Hi,
I'm looking for a book to read - doesn't have to be a series, it can be a stand-alone. Preferably historical fiction or sci-fi, but anything works :)

Hello Weise,
I recommend you Umberto Ecos "The name of the rose"

Have you ever looked into anything by Phillip K. Dick? He's an incredible author.

Try Sherrilyn Kenyon writings. She got a series based on history and another series that is sci-fi.

Welll, my favourite books are The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and The Thin Executioner by Darren Shan :P They're pretty wildly different, but basically Perks is a growing-up highschool story about a socially inept guy, whilst Executioner's a fantasy/kinda-horror thing about a guy who sets out on a quest to achieve immortality. Buuut, they're both amazingly well written and fantastic character development, which I think is what appeals to me most. Anywaaay, I definitely recommend them if either tickles your fancy <3

Sci-fi: the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
Historical: found by market petterson haddix (kinda sci-fi too bc time travel to historical time)

Legend by Marie Lu (it's a trilogy)
This is more of a fantasy series, but Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

The Ender's Game franchise by Orson Scott Card is pretty good and a classic. There's a ton of entries in the series and there's no set order except that "Children of the Mind" is supposed to be read after completing "Xenocide."
