Ok, so i got something to ask
Everybody knows that grimm tales were dark and sinister, before they adapted it.
i want to know, if someone got these original stories. Like, real ones, the first original stories.
there is a book of it? I would love one.

My fave is cinderella and how the girls cut off their toes to fit into the glass slipper

The original stories were verbally spread within the population or originated from folk songs, so most of them were already completely rephrased once the Grimm brothers released them.
The original versions of the stories weren't horror, but just little tales like "If you stray from your path, a wolf will come and eat you"
As far as I know, there are no original versions written down, save for some of the songs.
