John Green Reccomendations? (5)

I really want to read a book that's different from what I usually read (which is stuff like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Eragon). I've heard a lot about John Green's book, but I don't know if I would like his writing. I'm also a bit put off by it because of the fanbase. ((sounds weird I know)). Can somebody give me a good idea of his work and maybe a reccomendation of one of his books?

I have read 2 John Green books and they can be sad, but the humor in them make up for it. For a book filled with humor read Paper Towns. Personally, I didn't like the main character, but it was good. The Fault in Our Stars is sad and funny.
Hope this helped!

"will grayson, will grayson" was the second book I read by him. Amazing. Would definitely recommend. I found it very relate-able, here's the back of the book desc. for you

One cold chicago night, in a most unlikely corner of chicago, two strangers cross paths. Two teens with the same name, running in two very different circles, suddenly find their lives going in new and unexpected directions, culminating in heroic turns-of-heart and the most epic musical ever to grace the high school stage.

An Abundance of Katherines is pretty good. A refreshing read that does not emphasize teenage angst like most YA novels today. It describes the best of adolescence.

I tried Paper Towns and listened to the audiobook of Looking for Alaska. I never finished them but Paper Towns has an interesting premise so I might check out the movie instead. I'm a bit prejudiced to popular novels these days for some reason.
