the story i am writing surrounds a group who are able to go to another world while they sleep and come back when they wake. the world they go to is a place that links all human subconscious together and so has your most wacky dreams and worst nightmares contained. i am having trouble deciding how to give them their abilities to fight the many problems that they will encounter. i was thinking about giving each person a weapon that takes their attributes and forms itself. for example a huge burly person who is offensively violent might have a claymore, and if their personality is one that often hides themselves it would give them the ability to easily slide into the opponents blind spots.if you have other ideas please comment i will probably be asking for more help later on.

by the way the place they go to is called hypnos, and they are not the only drifters(people who can go to hypnos) and yes this story does sound a lot like the manga dreamland, but i plan on taking a different direction then dreamland's author took. for instance how they gain their powers and what purpose the group will take on

ok i think i figured out how i want to give the character's their abilities. they have to fight their worst fear but unlike dreamland they will not take over their fear, while it can happen they will basically gain the power of how they fight their fear.
