I Noticed there isn't any thread yet that's about the durarara light novels.

Which I thought was quite weird since we're all Durarara fans here!

So I was wondering who here reads the Light novels or is interested in reading them?

Because seriously Durarara is much more then just the anime/manga the Novel goes deep into alot of characters and also introduces other interesting new characters!!

Does anyone know, where to download whole volumes or chapters? Because I'm not very used to read it online. :( PDFs would be wonderful.

Oh jeez, this series XD the first three novels are the whole anime. But the series gets so... complex and confusing. Still, amazing. I wish there were more people translating it. Lots of people translate only a few books so you have to go on this huge search to find the translations. My favorite characters are Vorona and Aoba Kuronuma ^_^

Mikado's personality is pretty dark in the Light Novels.

My favorites are Hijiribe Ruri, Vorona, Awakusu Akane and AKABAYASHI FTW!!

I really want to read it... but should I read from the very first start or can I skip it and read volume 4? It is very different the story from the anime???

Does anyone have an recommendation about where to start reading the light novels if I've watched the anime? From the start?

I'm still up to volume 5. I haven't read vol. 2 and 3, I'm still looking for their pdf files. Volume 4 was cofusing and isn't that exciting for me though I did enjoyed the Orihara twins part. They're fun, cool and a little dirty. ;) Volume 9 was exciting and surprising since it's Izaya's story.

Spoiler alert: I still don't understand what happened at Volume 13. Could someone explain it to me? I love spoilers and I'm dying to know what really hapened between Izaya and Shizuo's fight.

On the wiki, you have a couple of options. The entire novel is summarized here, but if you're only looking for the fight itself, go to the Volume 13 section of Izaya's page.

OMG thank you for creating this thread.

I love the novels more than the show (saying a lot considering I HATE books) well anyway as much as I hate books nothing no movie, book, tv show, or video game has ever out done the drrr LN and I cant take the new SH series its to intense im terrified that Izaya is gonna come back and screw up everyones lives again, but im not sure now whether I should be more afraid of Izaya coming back or Kuon replacing him but you know hes hates humans which means Shizuo, Celt, Anri and Yahiro are in big trouble sense there all the nonhumanish (I consider shizuo and yahiro and anri to a lesser extant human but people in the books don't) *paces* I cant wait for SH 2 to get translated
