Books save people. Whether you think so or not. For the longest time it was books that kept me alive. Between the covers of novels, I found that I wasn't alone. When I read, I wasn't me anymore. I became Captin Arab looking for a white whale and getting back innocents. I became Puge falling for a girl named Alaska who wanted to do nothing but die. The point is between the pages of these books I found that not everything was bad. And not everything could be bad.
At one time, during my school career, my friend was going through a hard time. I gave him Looking For Alaska. He read it, devoured it. And told me that it helped him. Books save people. They saved me and they helped my friend. And I believe the right types of books can help anyone. So give books. Its like giving a second chance. Its like giving life.
>>3 Who cares? There's no question for people to respond to or some overlying use of it. There's no point to the thread itself based on the OP; it's just the OP ranting about some belief he has about books which could have gone elsewhere.
