You should always expect at least some negative response when you post something online. Since I didn't get to finish reading... I suppose I'll just say that you should be persistent and keep working on this project until you've improved upon it enough that you're satisfied with your work and feel comfortable enough with it that you don't even mind the occasional negative response.

Sama could have phrased that... well, differently to spare your feelings... but, I guess she was just being completely honest and I respect that. :P

It's not a "bad" story idea. It's just one that's been thoroughly used already :O I think you should keep trying with it. Add some bigger twists. Make it sound more of your own.

It's fine to write a story that's already been done before, even if I, personally, wouldn't write one. There will always be someone who likes your version better.

Mecha aren't bad to use, it's just really hard to get it right nowadays.

I had a Mecha story planned called Project: Night that mixed Militaristic combat with Sci-fi and Fantasy.

It was basically a story about how the chosen warriors will find the Elemental Souls to use in battle. Well those souls got SEALED underground, until many years later the chosen being's direct bloodline stumbled upon one of their locations. The Elemental Spirits form into what you think and want the most.

Kid thought about Mecha, and long story short it turned into a Fire Elemental Mecha.

Now I don't know if that is a good story or not, but it is kind of unique.
