anyone read the Demonata or the Cirque du Freak books by Darren Shan? Those of you who have what did you think of them? Personally even though he targets a younger audience I liked them.

The books aren't too thick, maybe 200 hundred pages each, and in the Demonata series in the first chapter of the first book (Lord Loss) The main characters mom is eaten by a demon, his dad is beheaded and strung up upside down, and his sister is split in half so that her front end can be worked like a puppet.

Yeah I'm currently on Blood Beast in the Demonata series, I finished Cirque du Freak and those books are actually what turned me on to his Demonata series xD I love how HE is the main character in the Cirque du Freak books as well.

I remember reading all of the Cirque Du Freak series in 7th grade. I graduated this past June and I still love the series. Haven't read Demonata yet, but I hope to when I can find the money and the time.

Read both series, they were amazing. What Darren Shan does with horror and adventure is beautiful. Don't even get me on that awesome mind screw he gives at the end of Cirque Du Freak.

Aw man, I was obsessed with that series for a while. Seriously. I found it sort of late in the game, but I gobbled up all twelve books like they were crack. Seriously. I'd be at the library every day returning one book just to get another. I spent all my spare time reading them until I finished.
But goddamn, that ending. That ENDING. That was just... cruel. Seriously cruel. I mean, amazing. But cruel. But yeah, this was an amazing series. -w- Much better modern book about vampires than Twilight. /smacked for mentioning that

they are fan fucking tastic. i love like everything he has done. Demonata, Cirque Du Freak, Larten Crepsley series, the City Trilogy, the Thin Executioner. he is my favorite writer.

I read Cirque Du Freak and it was amazing!!! Although the ending I was too big on but hey what can you do. Definitely is one of my favorite authors. I'm gong to start reading Demonata soon :D

I've read both the Saga of Darren Shan, and the Demonata series. I've also read the first of The Saga of Larten Crepsley and the first of Zom-b.
Darren is by far my favorite author.

I've read the Cirque Du Freak, The Thin Executioner, The Demonata, The Larten Crepsley Saga, and I'm working on his new Zom-B series. Finished the first two books. Also working on The City of Trilogy. All of it is phenomenal!
I wanna read Lady of the Shades. And Koyasan.
