"The Name of the Wind"

Certainly the best fantasy novel I have read in a long while (aside from A Song of Ice and Fire of course) and I would wholeheartedly suggest it to anyone.
Its sequel, "The Wise Man's Fear" was just released, and while I lack the funds to obtain it at the moment due to a small, troublesome thing called tuition, I very much look forward to reading it. And by "very much look forward to" I mean "losing my mind waiting to purchase."

I've read both, and I love it! Pat Rothfuss is a genius when it comes to words. As for sequels though, it's kind of a long wait; the time between Name of the Wind and the release of Wise Man's Fear was 4 years.

Is this like the call of the wild or are they different?

Quite different, Call of the Wild is Jack London.
