i don't see why it's a problem. some people have pronouns different from what you'd assume, so it's good to normalize it?? and it's easier than having to state gender for people who are nonbinary or pangender or whatever, and sometimes their pronouns still aren't what you'd assume, so just stating pronouns is easier for some people. so, again, it's good to normalize it??

it's sad that some people take issue with something so simple that could make others feel more comfortable.

Exactly!! I use he/they pronouns, and it’s really great to normalize that kind of thing, especially since it can help other people feel safer/more comfortable in being themselves.

it's not dumb or confusing. if you're confused it's probably just because you're ignorant. how far we've come from what?? trans people have literally always existed. the only difference is that they're allowed to be themselves more than in the past (depending on culture. many cultures always embraced them, until colonialism messed that up.) anyways, you might want to learn some LGBT history before jumping in and sounding like a bigot on the internet.

first of all, LGBT people simply want to exist without discrimination or persecution, just like everyone else. what rules are they imposing on the majority?? treat everyone like a human being, regardless of if you understand them?? wow, what a horrible rule. how dare they. how dare a minority want to be treated like a human being instead of trash or worse. according to your reasoning, no minority should be able to have a voice in democracy at all.

secondly, ignorant isn't an insult. it simply means he doesn't understand because he's lacking information. i didn't call him a bigot. i said he sounded like one, because he jumped in for no reason talking about how the world is somehow a worse place because people??? state their pronouns?? because that benefits someone who isn't him. i merely suggested he learn some history before assuming the world has changed for the worse.

This isn't my reasoning, this is how the world works. This is why I can't wake up one morning and decide to kill someone without being arrested. Well, an extreme case, but just to give the idea.

I can agree with you if there was an actual convertation, but... This isn't the case. You're just saying... Just because you don't agree with me, you're ignorant.

no, that's not how it works, and your example is a ridiculous slippery slope. minorities have allies to boost their voices. you know, decent human beings who think minorities should be treated with basic human decency. if no minority ever had a right to participate in democracy, women and black people would still be unable to vote. but who knows, maybe you'd be okay with that.

that's the literal definition of ignorant. not knowing about something. if someone knows so little about history they assume trans people are a new trend or something, just because they have a voice now, then yes. that's ignorance. that's not my opinion. that's just a fact. it's not about agreeing or disagreeing.

like, since you like extreme cases, i'll give you one that's actually a real thing. person A says "i'd like to exist peacefully." and person B says "actually, i think you should die." there is not two sided to that story. there is no middle ground. you can't say "well, maybe if person A is just treated like shit, instead of being murdered.." you cannot justify that. there is no reason for anyone to be treated like shit, let alone murdered.
