So I suppose I'll start with the obvious part: How I heard about The Dollars.
I want to say that like most people, I was introduced to The Dollars through the anime "Durarara!" I tried watching it years ago when it was being aired on television late at night, but I just couldn't get into it.
Fast forward years later, all the episodes were on Netflix, and I decided to give it a try, going from the very first episode and onward. In the end, I wound up watching every single episode that was on Netflix, and finished the series. I fell in love with the show.
I loved the elements of fantasy and the supernatural that the show had, but I was even more amazed by the coming-of-age feel and the sort of slice-of-life theme to it. It made me think a lot about life and about the world around me. About how there is life where something interesting always happens, and life that is typically mundane and uneventful.
But out of all of that, I liked the social aspect to the show. I liked how the characters had their message boards, and their chatrooms. I enjoyed the idea of being able to meet and talk with people about life and other various topics. I remember telling my girlfriend how it would be cool to start something like that when we were watching the show together. But I guess you guys were ahead of us and already put this site together.
I first want to say thank you to those who put in all the hard work and effort to make this site a reality, and bring The Dollars from a fictional universe into the reality we live in. It's truly entertaining. I don't know a whole lot about how this works, and I'm sorry if by some chance I've already managed to break a rule. I wasn't trying to.
This introduction sounded a lot cooler in my head, but I'm sort of rushed for time right now and I have to head out. But maybe I'll keep posting, maybe I'll find more to talk about, if you guys will have me.
Anyways, it's really awesome to be here, and I'm glad this place exists. I hope it stays around for a long while, and I look forward to learning more about it. Have a good day!
