Hello all. I used to be part of an old Dollars group years ago before it went down for maintenance and I never got back to it but this one seems a lot better.
So, about me. I'm from Scotland and I obviously love anime. I'm female although I identify as bigender (not really openly), I don't mind how you address me. I'm actually studying to become a full-fledged anthropologist (second year of a masters degree) and I'm particularly interested in Japan as my area of study. I love the topics of death/dying/bereavement, media/marketing, sex/gender and religion/folklore the most (I actually just finished an assignment on Japanese Shinto the other week). Suicide in particular is my key area of interest.
While I've never been to Japan I have travelled around Scotland extensively, been to England a few times (Blackpool, London) and been to Turkey (Marmaris), Greece (Rhodes), China (Beijing, Gubeikou, Xian, Shanghai and more) and Hong Kong.
I also love writing (fiction, non-fiction and fanfiction), video games (particularly horror), reading (mostly non-fiction, manga and fanfiction), art (I did advanced higher in high school), learning new things, youtube and nature.
I have asperger syndrome and I'm pretty weird in general (to other people at least). I suppose you could compare me to Izaya Orihara. I'm more like an alien observing humans that I find fascinating. While they're both frustrating and fascinating, I find humans interesting above all else. I suppose it's why I went into anthropology instead of art and design, creative writing or just plain religion. The extra dimension that social and cultural anthropology encompasses is what I needed to fulfill my curiosity.
