So I just got here and so far my only question is this, as far as accounts and what not what do I have to do. Is entering a name it? If I want to be remembered as someone who posted blah blah do all I have to do is keep entering the same? And if that's the case then wouldn't it be really easy to steal identity? Or does no one pay attention to that in the first place?

That's why we use tripcodes!
If you do this !putyourpasswordhere by your username in the name field you can generate an Id for yourself! That way people can recognize the unique Id as you which prevents impersonation :>

Lookit my ID! It has my username in it, so if someone tried to look like me, it'd be obvious they weren't.
You can test this stuff in the Test board. It's underneath the Random board, you have to go there to see it.
