Lot's of people do different things using this website. If you want to do good then check out the missions board. Or check out one of the other boards for discussions on other topics

Yep this is a real thing. No matter how you look at it.
What we mostly do though is "dala dala" all day long, though there are some of us who try to get community activities going.
For example, I just checked the mission board and saw people arranging for anonymous drop letters. That's always cool as you can really make someone's day and have a lasting impact on the community.
Another person suggested using Geocache to host a scavenger hunt in real life between members.
So like Izumi said, we're about as real as it gets.
