Nope, you need to go to an IRC client to use the IRC chat, the chatroom here is more like the one on the show. I use my Android for it, with AndChat.

Huh...then can you explain kinda what the IRC is?

It's basically a simple server based chatroom
You need 3 things:
1. A client to run the IRC
2. A server url
3. A channel name

After you have these 3 things you can talk to almost everyone about pretty much everything from Aeronautics to Zoology. Not even kidding, i spent 2 days discussing philosophy and the afterlife with a very insighful 15 year old.

And how exactly would one do those three things ?
