So, to give you a bit of advice, a good place to start is most definitely the FAQ. It has everything you need to know about the site that you won't learn by lurking. It may take a bit of time to read it, but it's certainly worth it.
Another good way to get used to the BBS is by reading through some of the threads and getting to know our members and how things work around here on the usual day. Lurking a bit like this doesn't hurt, and it'll help in long-run when you decide to start posting.
