Age matters less than competence. The fact you're worried about how people view you is a nice sign of humility, albeit for the wrong reasons.

Don't fret over "not making it," we're pretty lighthearted. Just make sure you read the FAQ thread so you don't accidentally post on the wrong board about something and you're fine.
