Anybody here play through the Persona series? (3)

Exactly as the title says. I know Persona 5 is pretty popular with a lot of people right now, especially with Royal about to be released, but I was wondering if anybody was a fan of some of the other games in the series like 4, 3, or even 1 and 2.

Persona-lly (ha!) 4 has the best villain in the whole series to me/the best side characters (love the Dojima family and Adachi more than life itself), 3 has the best party members and 2 has the best personality surrounding some of its characters. Also, 1 has one of the best battle themes to me - Lone Prayer. Goddamn.

Hell, I've even written fanfiction for this series, if anybody's interested - including a 50k word crossover between Persona 4 and Persona 5 that's fucking wild that I'll start writing the next chapter for after I get this post written up.

Anyway, uh, yeah. Any takers amongst the Dollars?

I've played Persona 3, almost finished Persona 4 and currently playing Persona 5. For me 3 holds a special place in my heart because it was my first game in the series, even tho it's depressing and talks about many serious issues. Playing persona 4 is more of a relief, everything is happier (ik it's about murder but the atmosphere). I don't really like the main protagonist in persona 4 for some reason, probably because of the design. Persona 5 is very aesthetically pleasing and i like the characters personality, most of the social links are fun too bad you can't romance guys.

>>2 3 has so many really good main characters. I've fallen in love with much of the plot as well, even with how depressing it can be. Playing Persona 3 feels like watching a tragedy - it can often be bittersweet, but it's so good. Playing Persona 4, to me, feels like coming home - just seeing the Dojima family + Adachi puts a smile on my face every time. Persona 5 is a bit of an escapist ride for me, but I don't mind it at all - a bunch of the characters /are/ really fun, and I love thinking about the many changes Royal will bring.

Lastly, if you didn't know prior - there is one game in the Persona series where you can romance a guy, Persona 2: Innocent Sin. It's available on PSP but can be emulated pretty easily too. I'd recommend watching an LP of it instead, though - the gameplay absolutely has not aged well at all.
