All of the Final Fantasy games are really fun and work well on mobile, but they cost inbetween 5-10 dollars I think. If you're not opposed to tactical games with Fire Emblem/Tactics Ogre like combat, then I definietly recommened Final Fantasy Tactics. It has a great combat system, wonderful soundtrack, and has one of the best storylines of any rpg. It's can be difficult in the beginning and will most likely take some time getting used to, but it's definietly worth both the price and time if you decide to try it out!

Fate/Grand Order is a game that's recommended on here a lot. It's a turn-based gacha game set in the Fate universe, so you might be familiar with the setting if you've played the vns/other games in that series or watched the animes. Grand Order (FGO for short) is very story heavy, so that might appeal to you. Gameplay is pretty good. The gacha is very rough and borders on being predatory though (you've less than 1% of getting the units with max stats), so maybe watch out for that. It's a game that can quickly become addictive. It's also an online game, though it's mostly solo play you need a connection to play.

The Zenonia series is very fun, though I've only played games 1-3. I think there's 6 games or so in the series now, unsure if you can find all the games on the App store now or if they've been removed. It's an action rpg series with good combat and decent story in fantasy setting. If you're on Android or Ipad, then I definietly recommend Across Age! It's fairly similar to Zenonia gameplay-wise, but it has a very good, character-based story.

Lineage 2: Revolution is a mobile mmo-type rpg based on the pc games (also mmos), and is set in the same universe. It's a high-fantasy type setting with a kinda gritty/gloomy touch to it. The game itself does a kinda shitty job with explaining the story related stuff/worldbuilding bc it's meant to draw in the pc players who've played the older mmos. If you're into story/lore stuff, you might as well just go to the Lineage 2 site and read what it says there. You might understand more of whats happening in Revolution then. Anyway, it's pretty similar to other mobile mmos/action games gameplay wise, with an open world. What's unique is that you start out with like 2-3 class option, which you can later advance into subclasses as you level up. So if you start out with a sword/shield at lvl 1, you can later choose to go dualwielding, or if you start with daggers end up with using a bow. I haven't gotten so far in this, so idk how this changes skills though. Also, the Lineage games are pvp centered, so thats a big part of the endgame. It also have dungeons as far as I know though. The publisher is Netmarble, so it might be p2w at endgame. Frankly, I dont know. You have an option to auto-quest everything, but this can be toggled off. There's also Black Desert Online for mobile. Black Desert is a lot like the pc mmo, beautiful open world game with pvp focus and really bad enchanment system.

That's all rpg stuff I can think off, hope you find a game you like Matalic.
