Paladins is pretty much a rip-off of Overwatch
The game mechanics are pretty similiar, both have champions with unique skills, ultimates, combos, and even play of the game
The difference is that, while you are able to change Champions in the middle of the game in Overwatch, you cant do so in Paladins
Also there's this card system thing in Paladins in which you can tinker with. You can create a set of card for each champion. These cards affect how you play the game, you can be a submachinegun sniper or squishy yet ittai tank.

People bring up a whole lot of different sources to try to prove it isn't a ripoff but whenever I see that Reinhardt shield I can't believe them.

Paladins: the poor man's overwatch.
personaly i like the take hirez took with the genre. i'm a major smite fan and one of the things that got me so interested was smite's Free to play system that keeps the F2P players on even playing ground w/ the payed players meaning people who can't afford the game still have a chance to enjoy it just as much. I also love the smite tie-ins like Grover and Ares fernando.
to say the game is an overwatch rip-off is alittle much considering both games look like TF2 to me.

While it does seem like a rip off, have you played Paladins?
It's very different gameplay wise. Yes, I won't deny that the heroes and features are ripped straight from Overwatch, but Paladins has a lot of original ideas, like the card loadouts which give you perks for the heroes, and the ability to buy upgrades in between rounds. It ripped off a lot of things, but it's not a TOTAL rip off

Actually there was once this youtube video that showed that Paladins had recycled many things from their previous projects which were put in paladins,Also the devs said that it was mostly inspired from tf2(mostly),city of heros, and Tribes.
