Localization/Censorship Opinions (3)

So, I've started playing the new Fire Emblem game, and I'm having a great time. Like every other game I enjoy, I start searching the internet to find other people who enjoy it too. However, for this particular game, a lot of what I found were complaints about the translation and localization of this game. People claiming it's been "butchered", and that they won't "support series' that pull this crap".

I hadn't even noticed a problem with it. As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing bad enough from keeping me from playing the game and enjoying. So my question is, are you the kind of person who doesn't mind localization or censorship, or do you hate it and look for a fan translation?

I've been playing Fire Emblem Fates as well, and I don't have any problems with it. A lot of people get upset when they hear things are being changed. But that's how these things work, something will always change when being localized or translated. Even fan translations are guilty of changing the meanings of words of the sentences as a whole, and the ones that don't tend not to make much sense. Different places also have different sensitivities (I think that's the right word?), so things will always be censored differently from place to place. A lot of people just get upset because they think they're losing content, but every time I've played a game with something taken out, I've never noticed it until looking online. Also, a lot of people won't even take the time to actually try the game. One of my friends is like that (they're one of the complaining people that you mentioned) but haven't even tried to play the localized version.

Oh, I was just about to make a new thread for Fire Emblem Fates! But yeah, people do seem to be complaining about it, personally I like Fates more than any of the previous ones. So, to answer your question, I'm a person that doesn't mind localization or censorship.
