Reign of Kings is a Medieval themed, sandbox survival game.

Let me start off by saying it is early access on steam, many of you will know what that means but for those let me briefly explain. Early access mean the game is still in development, and may have bugs and exploits. However these games can still provide a great experience and enjoyable playtime, in many cases a long lived play time.

Reign of kings is what many are calling a Rust and Chivalry mashup with its own unique twist. If you are a fan of either of these games (or like me, both) I seriously recommend this game.

Let me do a rundown, you join a server and create your character. The character creation system is pretty great for such a new game, there isn't a crazy amount of customizations but you can tell more will be added eventually. You create your character then your banner and guild. After that you start off like most other survival games, naked. Luckily you have your trusty stick and fire torch. Do what you do on every other survival, gather, harvest, build and craft. Crafting is pretty great really, trebuchets', ballista's and other siege equipment, forging system as well as farming such as grain and fresh water from wells. To create your walls and whatnot it has a minecraft block style system (the grapics are nothing like it, its simply building blocks) Iron gates, steel gates, or a dodgy wooden door the world is your oyster, unless..

The twist in the game is rather brilliant, One player can become king of the server, rename the land and well, tax every other player. Once this happens, you can either live on and automatically pay your taxes like a good peasant, or gather support from other players in the server, storm the castle kill the king then fight over who becomes king next. rinse and repeat. Even if you are a good and kind king people will still try to take the throne to get the taxes, so make sure you make allies.

There's a wide range of weapons and a decent selection of armour. Plus bows and crossbows. This game is rather brilliant except for one issue, being early access, its riddled with bugs, hackers and glitches but don't be too worried, the developers are averaging 3 decent updates a week for those not accustomed to early access, that's very good. New content almost every update.

Oh yeah, you can chain people up, drag them to your base and hang them or put them in a guillotine isn't that beautiful? Its on steam and it is available for the more then worth it price for $15USD.

My steam user is IcedToshiro contact me if you want to play :)

Sounds kinda cool. How far along in development is the game. I'm not a big fan of super early access because of all the glitches. If it'll be out by 2016 I'd be willing to give it a try.

Its been about 2-3 months since its been on steam but from what I've read its been in development about 2 months before put on early access. I completely get where you are coming from, many early access games a littered with glitches what's worse is lazy developers not even bothering to fix anything and just taking the money, but as I said, I seriously suggest it, the dev's are working on antihack at the moment so id assume it would be in next update which as far as I know will be either tomorrow or Wednesday. Maybe check out some steam reviews? They provide detailed explanation into what some of the glitches are and etc.

I've seen a LOT of people saying there are hackers everywhere, if you've played it have you found any hackers in the dedicated servers and are the admins abusive?
