So I've been playing some RPG games for the past month, and I've come to the conclusion that I want to try make one of my own. I'm going to supernoob right now, but I dont exactly know if I'm using the right term when I mean "RPG games." I want to make games like Witch's House, or To The Moon. So does anyone know and good free softwares? I know "free" won't give me the best quality games, but I want to give it a try before I actually buy one. Unfortunately, my Google searching level is -5 and I couldn't find any good ones.

UNITY or microsoft visual studio. Just saying, programming is very difficult and you gotta understand syntax and heaps of other things need to be considered. I'd advise you to not start with java script if your totally a beginner. Also you don't say RPG games cause thats basically saying role playing game games. Lastly you must have a pretty dedicated graphics card if you wanna use unity.

You should try out RPG maker VX Ace, its good for beginners, I know it costs, but if you ever have time and a way to try the full version for free then give it a go.
