Earthbound (also known as Mother 2) was created in 1995 for the SNES by Shigesato Itoi of Nintendo. It is an RPG known for its hilarious, witty and surprisingly touching writing.

"EarthBound chronicles the adventures of Ness, a 13-year-old boy who journeys around the world using his psychic powers to collect eight melodies in order to save the future from an alien of pure evil, intending to sentence all of reality to the horror of eternal darkness." - Earthbound Wikia

It is one of mine and many others all time favourites, despite being made in '95, it is still a very enjoyable playing experience and an amazing story.
