The game features 3 main cities; Havana, Kingston, and Nassau, Bahamas, which reside under Spanish, British and pirate influence, respectively. And also feature 50 other 'unique' locations to explore, with a 60/40 balance between land and naval exploration. Assassin's Creed IV has a more open world feel, with missions similar to those found in Assassin's Creed, as well as fewer restrictions for the player. The world opens up sooner in the game, as opposed to Assassin's Creed III, which had very scripted missions and did not give players freedom to explore until the game was well into its first act. The player will encounter jungles, forts, ruins and small villages and the world is being built to allow players much more freedom, such as allowing players to engage, board, and capture passing ships and swimming to nearby beaches in a seamless fashion. In addition, the hunting system has been retained from Assassin's Creed III, allowing the player to hunt on land, and harpoon in the water.

The main character of the game is Edward Kenway, a British privateer-turned-pirate and eventual member of the Assassin Order. He's also the father of Haytham Kenway, and grandfather of Ratonhnhaké:ton(Connor).(Basically going back some time.) There are also real-life individuals that you encounter that include the pirates Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch, Benjamin Hornigold, Anne Bonny, Calico Jack, and Charles Vane.

In the present day, at the Abstergo Entertainment — a subsidiary of Abstergo Industries — offices in Montreal, Quebec, players will engage in modern day pirating through the exploring of Abstergo's offices, eavesdropping and hacking, all without combat. As well, various "hacking" games, similar to previous cluster and glyph puzzles, will be present, that will uncover secrets about Abstergo.

As is the case in previous games in the Assassin's Creed series, the story is divided into two intertwined halves, with one in the present day, one in a historical setting, and the events of each influencing the other. Although the present-day story had previously established that an Animus was required to view one's ancestors memories, the ending of Assassin's Creed III implies that Desmond's genetic memories have now been uploaded on to 'the cloud'(No, I'm not spoiling how). As such, the player's character is hired by Abstergo Entertainment to investigate a pivotal character in Desmond's ancestry, the Assassin Edward Kenway. A notorious pirate and privateer operating during the Golden Age of Piracy, Kenway's story is set in the Caribbean, and mixes open-ended ship-based exploration with combat and land-based adventures on a number of Caribbean islands, as well as parts of southern Florida.

I really like this game and I recommend it to of course, the Assassin's Creed Fans, Pirate fans, and for people who like open-world games.
(Yeah, there was "that prediction thread" that gave no info about this game, just saying there was gonna be another AC game.)

You know, I was a little pensive towards the direction that they seemed to be taking the AC series. I like this though, they developed the stealth aspect nicely while still working on improving that massive, immersion-based, historically accurate world that they do so well. Based off the gameplay and reviews that I have heard of it, I'll be sure to buy it whenever I can.

>>14 Very few people liked Connor, he was a boring twat.

>>13 That is the first time I've heard anybody prefer 3 over 4.

I been thinking about getting this game

17 Name: Neige !h45CN3bvL2 : 2013-11-22 03:17 ID:lKdLlXhd [Del]

My brother bought this game a few days ago. He's a massive AC fan.

I myself only just started the first game this week. It's okay, I guess, I'm kinda enjoying it. My brother assures me that the second one is a helluva lot better, so I'm looking forward to that.

Anyway, I know (and sort of own) this game, and I'll get there eventually. I'm sure it'll be awesome.

>>17 The first one has a great storyline but repetitive gameplay. Number two improves on that, I'd say Brotherhood is where they perfect it, Revelations is great but kind of the same to Brotherhood, and 3 I thought was kind of average. Number four looks like a great new addition to the series.

Brotherhood= Best AC

22 Name: Doc_Durr : 2013-11-23 18:42 ID:SfziRim5 [Del]

im with sixclaw on this, brotherhood always will be the best AC :)

23 Name: Solace !o0GOqY0U0w : 2013-11-23 20:48 ID:GGEN+BAz [Del]

Brotherhood had the unfair advantage of Rome.

Anyway, I'd say Revelations rivals it, and 4 looks like it's having a good shot at the title.

Totally unrelated topic from the best AC game, I took down a legendary ship and I feel accomplished. King me.

25 Name: Hatash!HATStoI1IE : 2013-11-25 17:13 ID:IUzDiHVo [Del]

>>24 But which legendary ship did you take down?
I took down the 2 Man o War Legendary ships.

26 Name: Solace !o0GOqY0U0w : 2013-11-25 21:04 ID:j2YT2/8Z [Del]

Do you guys have any tips? A friend of mine who owns it is really struggling with the ships.

27 Name: Hatash!HATStoI1IE : 2013-11-25 21:40 ID:IUzDiHVo [Del]

>>26 Don't stop around, keep moving slow unless mortar'd on, think of the perfect time to ram the enemy ship.

28 Name: Sixclaw Sixto !4CNblaw9mI!!XI8GEi6V : 2013-11-26 00:16 ID:ARwwZyrs [Del]

I take that back when I said I took down 1 ship. I took down the rest of the Legendary Ships today and I feel even more accomplished than I did before>>25

29 Name: Sixclaw Sixto !4CNblaw9mI!!XI8GEi6V : 2013-11-26 00:17 ID:ARwwZyrs [Del]

>>26 Also, I recommend fully upgrading broadside cannons and hull armor before fighting those things. It costs shitloads of money, but its worth it.

Thanks guiz, I'll pass it on. He should probably finish the game first, though.

Aw, love this game.
Didn't liked the old ones too much, but the pirate aspect in this one just make the difference.

Plus, Edward. Come oooon. He's sexy. o/

Does anyone know what the deal is with the wrecked Man o' War on Abaco Island? It's been there for a while and I'm curious to know why it's there.

35 Name: Gsprfdude : 2013-12-08 06:48 ID:IHqQOfvv [Del]

To me this did not look all too appealing at first, with the ending to 3 and all. But when I played it my experience was amazing. It upped the navy combat a lot, and doing land based missions was also fun.

this game is broken; gameplay is starting to get unbearable with the amount of glitches happening in it

Pretty cool game..glitchy but cool.

Was alright. Better than 3. Pirating is fun, but doesn't exactly scream "Assassin's Creed" to me. It really feels like the Assassin's Creed franchise has really lost it's way. Remember when the title of the game actually meant something?
