For too long the Pewdiepie thread has stood alone, showing bias favouritism towards a single youtuber. Now, that thread must die, and in it's place a new thread will rise, one that branches out to accept all Youtube gaming commentators.

Basically, here is the place for you to recommend your favourite commentator, highlight some particular videos that you believe others will like or to judge/discuss other posts and opinions.

Please refrain from using the word "Bro" obnoxiously and repetitively, being annoyingly fanboy like and destroying others based off their own personal preferences. Also, don't spam please (but that should really go for all threads).

Keep in mind that this thread is strictly for gaming commentators only, please keep other categories out of this.

I mostly watch two best friends play on machinima or their own channel called thesw1tcher. Rendog is also cool. So is Trendkill. These guys aren't super serious when they play (Rendog at times to the point of looking like a noob) and at times tend to talk over what characters in the game are saying but are still realy fun to watch.

Sure he acts dumb but he references some really complicated theories ever once in a while and actually has quite a decent vocabulary, it depends on the video. Also, he gives all the money Youtube pays him to charity, he set up a twitter account to prove it with account statements. Most importantly, he has the capability to be really funny; you have to be in the mood, and it has to be a good video but he can be hillarious. I think QWOP was the first one I watched, still one of my favourites, I recommend it to everyone who is thinking of checking him out.

I don't play many video games/watch commentators. I used to watch Pewdiepie like over a year ago and he's pretty good, but I'm addicted to Achievement Hunter/Roosterteeth. I also really like that they do a lot of group Let's Plays (I especially like their Minecraft Let's Plays) and stuff un-related to video games like comedic shorts and a lot of behind the scenes stuff on what it's like to work in their offices.

I'm actually trying to start my own gaming channel on YouTube once i have the software and equipment. it's gonna be called NotSoCynical Gaming.

In all honesty though, my topic is still far more informative than yours. until one is made that is far more descriptive I believe I'll keep mine active. Even if it's full of hate, the original post and the few of mine after at-least is more informative.

This is just yet another pissing match type of thread, rather than firstly giving a good, detailed report on what they are, just does a cop out by telling people who read it to post their favorite.

I just think it should define what a gaming commentator is, then examples of who they are, where they can be found, and so forth.

Youtube Gaming Commentator: A person on youtube that plays game and commentates. Unless you have an IQ of 6, the title should be pretty self explanatory. They can be found on Youtube and if you need examples of what they are, you can probably look at the series of posts afterwards.

Well this is getting retarded. Why define Gaming Commentator? It's a gamer who commentates the games they are playing. What else definition is there? Is there some kind of secret definition in the fucking dictionary that defines what a gaming commentator really is? Really? Do we really have to dumb it down so hard? I get people on this site are dumb, but not that fucking dumb that we have to DEFINE AN OBVIOUS TITLE.

An example of who they are? Why? And where they can be found? Obviously on Youtube smartass. There's a youtube picture in the OP. Again, this is something that people with eyes and a reading level above a 5 year old can do.

I fucking love Game Grumps. Even though there's a pissing match among the fans over JonTron leaving, I don't give two shits. Danny is pretty funny, on the same level or perhaps much more so than Jon. And with the new Steam Train thing, I'm loving the Game Grumps channel more, being more of a PC gamer than anything else.

Also Danny sounds like a dude I know. He sounds exactly like a dude I know, except the dude I know is Asian. Unrelated, but I needed to say it somewhere.

Also, if adding details means adding irrelevant shit to a thread like A DEFINITION OF GAMING COMMENTATOR, you must suck at adding details to a fucking essay or adding details to anything. It doesn't enhance the post, it's unnecessary shit to make shit longer. That's just piss poor, and is basically the same as not writing shit at all.

Might as well chuck in a couple of my favourites as well.

Depending on my mood, I really like Cr1tikal. He's pretty basic and rude but if you take him the right way, he can be golden. It has to be a specific set of circumstances, though. He doesn't play games to be good at them usually, he plays (I think) purposefully badly, which can derive more entertainment than otherwise. Also, all the money youtube gives him to do what he does, he gives to charity, which I consider a pretty amazing act. Despite using basic humour a lot of the time, he also references to some complex topics which shows a veiled level of intelligence under the surface (E.G Scientific theories, obscure Nordic myths, philosophers).

For most of the time though, I usually stick to Achievement Hunters, simply because they have so much variation. They do just about everything from serious playthroughs to complete joke runs and seem to be completely likeable people. They are a subcatagory of Rooster Teeth, if you've ever heard of them, and have large roles in the production of the series Red vs Blue. Due to Rooster Teeth's original purpose, they do focus on a lot of Halo, but branch out to other games also.

They're really funny. I watch Strihiryu because he does most of the endings to the games and plays a lot of ao oni fangames (and I really like Ao oni XD), Markiplier has really good commentaries with games and always make "dramatic" faces and sounds XD, and Cry for the sexy voice XD jkjk, love Cry, a lot of the times, he would read the lines to each character and would leave the best scenes of a game alone.

SeaNanners is super funny. Also SuperJeenius is pretty awesome if you like games like the persona series.

My personal favourite YouTube gaming commentator is Storpey. He is a YouTuber who mainly focuses on horror games, but sometimes does indie games as well. He is very funny in his reactions and he hasn't made a single boring video yet. I really recommend him and his other channel he made with Sparrowmella, StorpMella. If you haven't checked him out yet, please do, he is hilarious, but not in the sense that he makes a lot of jokes, his reactions and how he gets through the situations are what truly make him funny and fun to watch. I recommend the video 'Slender Reactions Compilation #2 - Storpey' because it shows his overall reactions to a horror game and they are more genuine than how I feel watching other YouTube gamers. Unfortunately, he isn't making many videos lately due to medical problems, but he is determined to get back to it as soon as he can. I enjoy Storpey so much that I decided to interview him for a college project, if that doesn't give you incentive to watch him, he probably isn't for you.

I have become increasingly addicted to Achievement hunter lately. There are a few others on the side but they seem to be the best guys for a main go-to point. Not only do they have a good structure and team, they release a video a day and often have high quality editing.

My favorite would be Two Best Friends Play. Achievement Hunter would be a close second.
