Watch Dogs (stylised as WATCH_DOGS) is an upcoming open world action-adventure stealth video game, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. Watch Dogs centers on the player's ability to hack into various electronic systems, either to obtain and control information or to destroy those devices completely at specific times.
Watch Dogs is an action-adventure stealth video game in which players control a man named Aiden Pearce (voiced by Noam Jenkins), who can hack into various electronic devices tied to the city's central operating system (ctOS), allowing various methods for the player to solve numerous objectives. Examples include hacking into people's phones to retrieve bank data and steal funds, triggering malfunctions in equipment to distract other characters and hacking into traffic lights to cause collisions. Players can also receive information on civilians via augmented reality feeds, providing the player with information on demographics, health and potential behaviour. Objectives showcased in presentations include finding specific targets to kill, evading the police and following potential victims in order to stop their would-be killers. Combat utilizes a combination of stealth components and parkour, along with the mechanics of a cover-based third-person shooter.
The game features an elusive online multiplayer element in which another player can control surveillance cameras in an attempt to hack the main player.
The storyline of Watch Dogs game is built around the concept of information warfare, data being interconnected, and the world's increasing use of technology—questioning who exactly runs the computers they depend on. The game is set in an alternate reality version of Chicago, Illinois, which is one of many cities to feature a supercomputer known as a "CtOS" (Central Operating System). The system controls almost every piece of technology in the city, and contains information on all of the city's residents and activities which can be used for various purposes. In the game's universe, the Northeast blackout of 2003 was found to be caused by a hacker, prompting the development of CtOS. The game will follow an antihero named Aiden Pearce, a highly skilled hacker described as a person who uses both "fists and wits."

I really can't wait for this game.
And yes, I would rather have information about a game than just "play as a professional hacker"

This game gets me hyped! And it takes place in my hometown of Chicago. That part doesn't matter too much to me but I still think it's pretty cool.

I'm surprised the last comment for this game is from September. With the game releasing in less than a month, I'm really hyped. Been waiting for this one since it was first announced. However, I'm a bit concerned about the requirements. I'm not sure why it would require a Core i7 at all. If they gave a reason for the need of an i7 I'd gladly get one, but it just seems very excessive. Can anyone help me with this? I really want to play the game on Ultra settings, but the requirements concern me. Here's my rig:

Asus 21.5 inch 1080p HD Monitor
NVIDIA GeForce EVGA GTX 670 with 2GB VRAM
Quad-Core Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.4GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
1TB Hard Drive(125GB left, planning on getting a second one soon.)

Will that be good enough to run the game on Maximum settings considering I'll be playing at 1080p, not 4K, and with only one monitor? I assume the beefed up specs are more or less to cover 4K and multiple monitors.

I am still thinking about getting this game but for the PS4 :P

>>15 Only thing I can suggest is maybe wait till the game is out and then see what rigs people are suggesting.

>>15 i can run this game with a 6-core AMD FX-6300 with 16GB DDR3 RAM,NVIDIA GeForce 750 Ti with 2GB VRAM And on a 50 inch LG LED TV. the game needs at least a quad-core to run the game. your specs will play at high settings. mine can play at maxed out settings possible.

>>18 True, but you also have to take into account that the specs are most likely bloated, meaning excessive. The fact that max settings require a GTX 780 is most likely for marketing reasons to try and sell more GPU's. After all, NVIDIA is heavily invested in this game. As for the CPU, all my tech savvy friends are fairly certain the most you'll need to play the game is an Intel Core i5 processor. As for RAM, well I'm hitting that one on the dot which could go badly or be just fine. If need be I can shell out a bit for 4GB more of RAM just to be safe.

>>19 8GB is more than enough for any game nowadays. 16GB is more for video editing or CAD.

Your specs should have no issue.

Just finished the game. It was alright. Walking around Chicago and accessing everybody's personal info had a charm to it until abut half way through, and I loved the amount of detail they put into the city. My main gripes with the game, however, are things like how scripted things like the hacking and random crimes feel. They could have had a bit more room for experimentation with hacking, and the crimes could have been more varied, and open ended. What REALLY bugged me the whole time was how there wasn't enough rooftops to run around on. That's just me though XD

Overall, it was a pretty good game I guess. The game sequel-bates SO HARD though. And last note: I feel bad for whoever has to sit and type out the Ubisoft credits. Their jobs must suck.
