I checked through the threads and didn't see one of this so I thought I'd make one.
Final Fantasy XII (ファイナルファンタ ジーXII Fainaru Fantajī Tuerubu ? ) is a console role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 2 platform. Released in 2006, it is the twelfth title in the mainline Final Fantasy series and the last offline title in the mainline series to be released exclusively on PlayStation hardware. The game introduced several innovations to the offline titles in the mainline series: an open world, a seamless battle system, a controllable camera, a customizable "gambit" system which lets the player automatically control the actions of characters; and a "license" system which determines which abilities and equipment are used by characters. Final Fantasy XII also includes elements from previous games in the series such as summoned monsters, Chocobos, and Moogles.
The game takes place in the fictional land of Ivalice, where the empires of Archadia and Rozarria are waging an endless war. Dalmasca, a small kingdom, is caught between the warring nations. When Dalmasca is annexed by Archadia, its princess, Ashe, creates a resistance movement. During the struggle, she meets Vaan, a young adventurer who dreams of commanding an airship. They are quickly joined by a band of allies; together, they rally against the tyranny of the Archadian Empire.
Final Fantasy XII received universally high review scores, and earned numerous "Game of the Year" awards in various categories from noted video game publications. Selling more than two million copies in Japan, it became the fourth best-selling PlayStation 2 game of 2006 worldwide. As of March 2007, over 5.2 million copies of the game have been shipped worldwide. A sequel, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007. (Info from Wikipedia)

This is my favorite in the series. Maybe they'll make an HD remaster if FFX/X-2 HD sells well.

Currently playing this actually.(Wired!) I just picked it up before this because i noticed I haven't beaten it. It's been a lifelong struggle on and off but I'm close now! It's pretty damn long.

Ivalice is the single most well thought out creation in the final fantasy universe. Other FFs will never put as much thought into the world as 12 and the other Ivalice titles did.

This is definitely in my top 3 FF games for sure. Im glad that FFXV isnt turn based and is open world again. I think they learned from FF XIII/XIII-2 not to restrict the gameplay so much. I want to explore the FF worlds not run down them in a straight line

This was a pretty cool game. I like the world design and the overall diversity it had.
I agree, it never gets enough attention! I'm actually hesitant to see it remade (after seeing the mess with Final Fantasy VI on Droid and IoS, and seeing what they did to X's OST) but if it does, I hope it's given more love!

It was good but Vaan seemed a bit meh to me. He was pretty unsual seeing as how most of the Final Fantasy protagonists are depressing (Lightning, Cloud) compared to the extreemly over happy Tidus, I wish he was more alive. But yes it was a great game overall I loved the battle mechanics and they way they were implemented. It's in my top 5 FF games. Looking forward to 15.

I'm about halfway through it and I have to say that it's pretty decent. Not my favorite, but far from terrible. The only thing I don't like is the character depth. Vaan is kinda boring imo
