The Perfect MMORPG (80)

1 Name: Tekato : 2013-04-29 18:42 ID:+z8XlFNf [Del]

I'm a hardcore F2P MMORPG player, I've played countless titles and allot are really good. I've scoured through the earth, gone through every 4chan post I could on MMORPGs, and I still haven't found the perfect one. What do you guys think is the "Perfect" F2P MMORPG, and what would be your qualifations for one.
My qualifications for my "Perfect" MMORPG would have to be
- Anime like Characters (Tera Online)
- Vast, and Open World (Skyrim)
- Guild and Player housing with interaction in map(Ever-quest 2)
- Guild Wars: Including hired bots
- PVP, PVE (Most MMO)
- A action based combat system (Asada Story, Tera, everquest, Maplestory, etc.)
- A choice for what type of Controls: Keyboard, mouse, controler
- Good graphics
- 1 massive server instead of many servers
- In game marriage: Forever alone :P (Most MMOs)
- Party System( Most MMOs)
- Create, and forge your own weapons
- Massive Character creation (Aion)
- Massive armor and weapons
- Pet system with good A.I (Maplestory)
- Dungeons (Most MMOs)
- Lots of different monsters and NPCs
- Leveling up to 300-500
- Normal Leveling rate
- Lots of different types of classes
- At least 6 types of races
- 3rd or first person (Skyrim:1st Person Tera:3rd Person)
- Full Game Access
- Banking system
- Guild Banking System
- No overpowered classes
- Enchantments on items
- Optional Story line
- Events
- Mount System
- Ability to fly
- Teleport or fairy system
- Map separated in regions based on race
- Player made dungeons
- Good quests based on level
- Hot spots: Places for people to meet

Thats about it that I can think of right now.
If someone could possibly find a F2P MMORPG game with all that. I will be forever grateful, and yes. Some of these Ideas I got from Sword Art Online.
Thanks for reading :D

Well, you can always create a new MMORPG with all these features 8D...or wait some decades. Or dream 8D dreams are nice.
Anyway, back to the topic, no, I don't know anything like that...and I'm pretty sure something like that doesn't exist. Even if a MMO like that existed, it would be at least B2P.
Geez...why are people so high standard these days anyway? my perfect MMORPG would be one where the community is good...

Well that is my dream. Lol I am high standered when it comes to video games because I know the technology, time, and money is there for all this to be made by giant game corporations. So far the only one to actually have most of these would be Tera Online. I started playing it yesterday and I haven't stopped :D

4 Name: Issun : 2013-04-29 20:08 ID:QUrrUvXJ [Del]

>>3 Well, just remember: the offer to make it yourself is still up 8D I won't stop you if you REALLY want to...just make it F2P so I can play. rarar :D
Anyway, if TERA is the closest thing to your dream right now, stick to it. Plus, there are some awesome games coming out this year ^^ Have you ever heard of Blade & Soul?

No please send link, but there are alot coming this year. Also im still learning game creation so no hope there yet

Sounds like Elder Scrolls Online will fill a lot of those catagories. It will cost however.

I do not think that having high standards is such a bad thing. I, who has experienced a ton of crappy mmorpg's can understand the frustration. I think what Tekato has going is is great. If Tekato were to create that, I would most definitely try it.

10 Name: Eros : 2013-04-30 10:28 ID:qltUVrGT [Del]

Started reading the list and when I got to about.. ohh.. the first one, I instantly thought "This kid must have watched SAO".

Oh, also, I dont know if clothing counts as armor, but you forgot it. Lots of different types of clothing would be great.

>>9 Do you know how long this would take to make? One person would be at it for years.

i found a few that's close to the requirements but nothing exact. still looking though

>>5 The game is still being translated to English and was developed by NCSoft. If you're curious about the gameplay search for some videos in youtube.

Now, I'm not sure if it'll be F2P...

so your pretty much describing sword art online and alfiem online.

More or less, it would be awesome though if SAO was real though!

I recommend FinalFantasy xiv A Realm Reborn. It has pretty much what most mmo players are looking for.

Sounds good, Ill try it. And yes, I just finished trying out Never WInter...not the greatest MMORPG, I still like Tera Online better.

>>22 An mmo can be sucessful with a P2P and have a F2P option,or even fairly sucessful as a F2P like Guild wars, even Eve onlilne is not a massive success as an MMO but it has enough people paying to play it and keep it running.

Star wars the old republic at the start was just P2P but Bioware/EA had to change thir business model to stay competitive, so they added a F2P option with some restrictions.

well now that i think on it i believe the closest ive ever been to an amazing mmorpg was perhaps mabinogi but thats just my opinion

Seems good, ill check it out later. Right now the closest is tera rising for those who are wondering.

Sword Art Online...Nuff Said.

This is what the future of MMO should look like. Aincrad had MANY good ideas to take into account, possibly passing .hack in some ways. Plus used very great concepts of how virtual reality could take advantage of gameplay. Making the player learn how to do the combo moves themselves instead of using skilllist? Very fascinating.

I looked at some leaked Beta footage and it looks like Elder Scrolls had a baby with WOW then fed it some steroids instead of breast milk, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
Fully voiced everybody was a big bonus for me too and it looks like a bunch more lore and items are going to be added in.
Suuuuper psyched for it. Wish it wasn't subscription based but you can't have everything I guess.

and just for those who are wondering. The game ArcheAge is so far the closest to SAO I have ever seen. Its a open Beta in Korea, and soon later this year to come to North America.

my idea of a perfect MMORPG is the use of virtual reality gaming, go in the game yourself and if feels like you experience everything you do in there, there are people working on virtual reality, 1st game made into virtual reality i think was Fortress 2, I'm not sure.

Well for those reading, The closest game, ArcheAge
Will most likely come out early next year.
Anyone have a game that's even close.

I find too many mmorpg's to be mainstream. However I would play one without a doubt if it met those requirements too. The onlything I can say is wait for Elder Scroll Online it is coming out sometime later this year.

Lucent heart!
It's a zodiac-based game with cupid system for marriage. It had great dungeons and really fun quests, you never get bored. And the graphics is perfect as well as the soundtrack -background music-. Unfortunately, the us server has closed, it's available in japanese and Chinese i guess. Some people though, who live in the us or other countries, have managed to download it in either japanese or Chinese and add a patch to make it english. Or maybe downloaded a whole english server.
I was obsessed with this game because of the resemblance to anime, and i didn't find a flaw i hated about it. An d i'm pretty sure it's pretty much what you're asking for since it has "PVP and PVE, Lots of different monsters and NPCs, Player made dungeons, Good quests based on level and Hot spots: Places for people to meet."

So yeah if you want you can look for a way to get it in english. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Actually, SubaGames is bringing back Lucent Heart sometime. There were news about it around April and there's a coming soon banner on their site, so it's possible that going through all that hassle with Asian servers and stuff won't be necessary. Other than that, Mabinogi is pretty nice as well, anime style graphics, unique battle system, and loads of options for the player besides the usual 'standard mmo missions and grinding' stuff.

What I want to say will probably be FFXIV: Realm Reborn, but I think it doesn't have in-game marriage. Far as I know, it's really good unless you're really patient with them long-ass intros and stuff.

Archeage. All I have to say

Tera Online, Aion Online.

55 Name: Heruko : 2013-09-25 12:38 ID:dgzxgw66 [Del]

This one might not meet your standards but Fiesta Online by Gamigo is a good F2P in my opinion.

56 Name: Tekato : 2013-09-25 15:32 ID:DyV6I7Gs [Del]

>>54

Tera online has amazing graphics, excellent PVP and PVE. Only problem is its lack of character Creation, it's lack of orginization, and the thing that lost me was no Guild Halls, or Player Houses.i

57 Name: Tekato : 2013-09-25 15:36 ID:DyV6I7Gs [Del]

>>54

I agree, Aion does have a lot of those things. Although I don't mind the click to attack feature, it still gets annoying, another thing is it's grinding. You spend so much time grinding that it gets super boring. When I played (1 year ago) it community was still growing, but now it's almost no one, either that mostly spam bots.

>>55
It has some feature, but not all. Fiesta is more of a starter MMO for those who like easy, and cartoony. I'm looking for Action, hardcore, intense, and almost like a 2nd life. Also, can't forget the wars, me want lots of wars. :P

58 Name: Tekato : 2013-09-25 15:43 ID:DyV6I7Gs [Del]

has anyone here tried Dc universe online by SOE i play it and it is amazing it has a lot of different aspects to the game. In my own opinion the combat and the game-play style is really well done and the main story is interesting to say the least. I recommended to others in the past and they love it , so if you try it out and you play on the PvE server send me an inbox message my in-game name is Heliowolf so if ever you need help you can just ask me

I'm personally not into the entire superman thing

61 Name: Kurai : 2013-10-11 13:23 ID:2k3WfUEE [Del]

For me my perfect game would be...
-Tons of classes. TONS. I'm saying over 1000. I want each person to be unique. But I don't want "no" classes as then they wouldn't have skills, or there would just be a number of skills that you could buy/obtain. Too boring. Just make a ton of classes and we're cool~
-A lot of customization. Anime style. Since it's awesome y'know?
-Wide diversity of weaponry.
-PVP and PVE (Obviously.)
-A single server.
-No teleports and HUGE biomes. Like deserts that could take days to cross, crawling with monsters and mini dungeons along the way. Huge forests that can get you lost easily, till it gets to the point where you have to call for a friend to find you. Snowy tundras with frequent blizzards that make visibility terrible. Awesome stuff.
-Real time combat. I don't want to click on an enemy then start auto-attacking. Let me have full control. My ideal keybindings would be:
WASD for movement.
E for block
1 2 3 4 for skills.
Left click for using weapon in left hand. Right mouse for the right hand.
-Tons of stats: Attack, Strength, Wisdom, Agility, even petty things like Sewing, Listening, Sneaking, etc.
-Voice chat. But it only goes to a range (lets say 20 feet.) That could be increased with a stat (ex. Listening.)
-PVP everywhere outside of towns. But if you kill too many people you become a criminal until you're caught or lay low for awhile.
-A good economy. Although I don't like games like Runescape, I admire the awesome economy. I want something like that.
-Huge dungeons that can take months for everyone on the server to complete. A group effort sort of feel.
-Parties of at least 10.
-A world with only swords, bows, magic etc. But not medieval, if that makes sense. Ever watch SAO? Something like that.
-Good graphics, but good enough that even a regular computer that isn't anything special can play. To spread the love.
-Unique skills. Like if you do a very specific thing with very specific armor/weapons, you get a skill that only you have. No one else. And no one else can get it after you have it unlocked.
-And lastly...
A player driven story.
Like... The devs program a specific sequence that only the most devoted of players can activate, turning them evil, so that they can rule. Then the rest of the world has to try to stop him. That would be awesome.
Yeah... that's it. Wouldn't that be awesome?

DragonNest isn't much of a HardCore type of MMO in my opinion. The graphics are not exactly what I'm looking for and it doesn't have much options for Character Customization. This is also all my opinion so if you disagree tell me why. :3

"- 1 massive server instead of many servers"
Nice idea but there aren't very many MMO that get that right, Most of the time you end up with the same problems runescape has, with there being too many people interacting with the same quests, npcs whatever. It ruins the atmosphere and in many cases also ruins the gameplay. There are some games that sort of work around that, like the first Guild Wars.

Their example isn't necessarily like actual anime, just animated, Tera isn't exactly anime, but it's very good art style imo for an MMO, and most MMO's are like that

I don't think ArcheAge is even translated in english. But i'm downloading and going to try out Tera, Dragon Nest, Firefall (A lot of stuff is being worked on at the moment though), and Defiance

80 Name: Anonymous : 2015-07-31 03:13 ID:bysb/3x8 [Del]

I can't believe I only saw this now.

A lot of you losers said we need SAO, but we need The World. that's the only MMO that has all of those qualities.

OP makes some good points. Not too many people are as unhappy with modern online gaming as I am. Gamers are killing video games.

BTW, ArcheAge is the cloaest you'll get, but Trion is crap for a company, and the game itself is still lacking in many ways.

Also, no classes. Classes are lame.
