Ok I can't even mention how many damn times I have seen some amazing mod for any game at all and thought, "that looks easy to install!"
Cut to 1hour later.
Now the files are scattered, I'm cursing a storm, and now parts of the game are missing. Can't anyone simply explain in the most detailed way, how do I install a mod?
Lets start here, if you have ever seen the Venturian videos on YouTube you might have seen their Dalek mod video, I tried to install that mod they used. My data folder is now pact with shit that doesn't work or fit there and if I remove the wrong file coding could be lost. Anyone have a mod you struggled to install or understand?

If anything you should have a least asked in the Minecraft thread instead of making this one. I don't really know anything about Minecraft mods myself but that would be the place to ask.

The intention was to have a thread about mods in general, I see I could have rethought the title.
