i've looked through the entire game thread and there is no kerbal space program so i'm here to let ya'll know bout it. u have kerbals. u build space planes and rocketships. u send the kerbals into space to land on planets or moons, or just to crach them into stuff. whichever. ur choice

2 Name: Chimera !YFPCxyAOlA : 2012-11-30 17:32 ID:jHF+1ZjK [Del]

ZOMG you can moonwalk in this game?

I've never managed anything beyond creating a multi-year orbit around the sun. Well, that and copious decouplers. Decouplers make my world go round.

I'm assuming the spacewalking wgoing on in that picture is part of the paid version? I just have the free version a friend sent me a while back.

>>2 no man u can land on the mun on the free version too and if u do u should be able to exit the capsule... wait. maybe it is just a paid version thing. idk. i know if u download the nova map pack u can launch satellites up even in the free version but make sure u download the right version pack

Kerbal Space Program ver. .18 is out now. It makes it much easier to land on planets now

5 Name: Chimera !YFPCxyAOlA : 2012-12-01 14:25 ID:jHF+1ZjK [Del]

I guess I honestly never tried very hard to land. :P

I'm more about building cruise missiles just for kicks. Or making my thrusters collide with each other in midair for catastrophic results.

>>5 yeah i actually tried to save my kerbins on most occasions. bummer bout the newest version. none of ur stuff from .17 transfers to .18

any way to get it without having to pay, eg invite/code?

8 Name: Chimera !YFPCxyAOlA : 2012-12-02 13:02 ID:jHF+1ZjK [Del]

>>7 https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/download.php

You can get .13 for free still. That page calls it their "demo" version. The paid version is the only one that will be getting updates, but playing it is still possible.

9 Name: tsukasa : 2012-12-03 18:05 ID:ahMsGubk [Del]

>>8 and if u go into the forums u can still get mod packages for the free version. those r also free. it's so u can have satellites and vehicles and stuff

10 Name: tsukasa : 2012-12-08 10:19 ID:ahMsGubk [Del]

still haven't tried the new version yet. i'll let ya'll know at some point. finals week is comin up so i've been busy

11 Name: tsukasa : 2012-12-12 12:21 ID:ahMsGubk [Del]

big news guys. for those with the paid version it's now up to 18.4. go to ksp and download it. For those of you who don't have it yet, they updated the demo from .13 to .18 so u'll get more of a feel what it's like today. ya'll should all at least get the free demo that u can play free forever or better yet, buy the paid version. only 23 bucks

22 Name: tsukasa : 2013-03-20 16:39 ID:zdjk78o7 [Del]

more big news guys. kerbal has updated if u have the paid version to .19. It now features re-entry animations such as ur spacecraft heating up and flames around it as it re-enters the atmosphere. also there are new parts and vehicles

heads up guys. version .21 will be debuting soon. there will be a campaign mode finally as well as able to pick and hire new kerbins. however, though u can probably keep any ships or planes already built, it does seem that ur saves won't transfer so just a heads up. hope ya'll get this great game.

well guys, version .21 is out. looks great so far. campaign isn't available yet but they r making progress. if u had a save file u can try to upgrade it but it may not work. as for me, it was time to say goodbye to old file and hello to new.

I've got everything up to space station parts and I'm working on getting the advanced jet stuff, but I'm still having trouble getting a workable SSTO that can take 2 science jr's to the mun. Anyone else successful in designing a spaceplane with that kind of payload?

I'm soooooo close to getting the most ridiculous station design into orbit. My first stage keeps knocking parts off the second though, insanely annoying to troubleshoot. I think part of it is my computer being at it's limit, getting like 4 fps tops. It's a super weird design, 8 girder segments branching out from the center with 24 of the second smallest rockomax tanks forming a ring around that, and then the launch stages strapped on to the outside of all that. I'll post a screenshot if I ever manage to get the damn thing into a stable orbit.

I knowwwwww! I'm excited for tweakables. Also the sabre engine is going to be tight as fuck. I hope they include an update to the subassembly loader, so you can have fuel lines / struts that attach automatically like they do whenever you move a part that has em.

Soooooo turbofan engines from the B9 Aerospace parts mod are kind of amazing. This thing (any ideas for a name? It reeeeeally needs a killer name) doesn't have an ounce of lift from aerodynamics, it levitates perfectly on the 6 side mounted turbofan jets, with 3 large SAS units worth of torque to hold it level, and action groups tied to each pair of engines, so you can balance or tilt / accelerate horizontally by turning engines off and on with those.

It has a top speed of about 120kmh (bit low still) generated by the thermal rocket and forward thrusting turbofans on the radiators (wing-shaped things), and it can go for quite a while before running out of fuel, in which case it can mine Kethane and convert it to jet fuel or mono-propellant to replenish itself.

Also complete with brake lights, landing spotlights and amber warning lights, running lights, abort beacon lights, ejection system, on board power generation via fission reactor(as soon as I remember to put an electric generator on the damn thing), and science lab. Possibly capable of utilization as mobile command center (remote-tech functionality).

Also it looks freaking amazing, just sayin'. I guess I'll go to bed now.

No problemo. Wish we could get some other peeps into it. I'm extremely happy with how that vtol thingy turned out, I'm probably going to upload it to the forums. I mean, it PERFECTLY maintains altitude at full throttle / ahead full. It's like a freaking jet submarine or some shit.

they continue to update this great game. i know in a previous post i said they were bringing it to xbox one but to date there has been no further word on it so i don't know if it fell through or is still in development. as for me i'm ashamed to say i haven't played kerbal in probably 3 years now. don't have the time nor the computer specs anymore. i hope to some day regain the fun and creativity this game brings but for now all i can do is incourage other to go out there and try this game out for urself
