Ya, great gameplay mechanics, and does well at keeping the original game's core.

It is indeed a great game and i also played it for a while, but i stopped playing there due to the updates/patches taking so long to download. I guess i'll just wait for the European release and hope that the download will be faster then.
But I kind of miss the good old Megid, which could kill you in 1 hit, if you don't have enough dark resistence. Especially Mil Lily's, Hildetorr's and those sorcerers in Ultimate Ruins from Episode 1 were rather challenging with their high level megid. Also with large multipartys the game gets too easy and boring in my opinion. But on the other hand it's quite challenging to solo bosses like Snow Banther or Quartz Dragon. The balance of the game is just (not yet), where it should be. They might have changed it during the last few months though. I didn't play since January or February.
