Lucas was in Mother 3 and that was only released in Japan. Most people didn't know who Marth was until Melee. People probably know them more now because of Smash Bros.
What I'm saying is that the developers can put in whoever they want regardless if they're popular in other countries.

It is kinda funny that Earthbound was actually the 2nd game in the series......WHY WON'T JAPAN SEND US THE FIRST AND THIRD (Mother and Mother 3)?!
