Elona is a graphical sprite based game that falls under the "roguelike" genre. You can choose from one of many, many races - and then one of a crap ton of classes.

These classes will affect your base stats, the skills and traits you have access to at the beginning of the game, and how easily you can learn different things.

After that, you get an opening scene that paints your character as being on an important quest, caught aboard a ship that has fallen under the terrible path of an Ether storm - Winds of pure magic that are akin to natural disasters.

Some time later, you awaken in a cave next to two unknown NPCs. They tell you of the land you have washed up in, and out of kindness, provide you with the first few items you will receive to try and survive in this new land.

Then the game leaves you to do whatever the fuck you want to do. It's a roguelike, so the world is, quite literally, your playground... But it's an unforgiving, bastard playground that hates you. If you don't mind your step, you'll end up fucked so fast it'll make your head spin.

To survive you will and must do whatever you can. Be it becoming a piano playing dianosaur, a dancing lich, a claymore wielding fairy, a rock who owns a human-slave farm, a loli-overlord who commands the most massive army in the land, or the single most famous floating eyeball prostitute.

Or a warrior, you could do that too.

There's probably a plot to this game... Somewhere.

But who cares about that when you are a T-Rex wearing a tuxedo playing a piano?
-----------

Elona is one of those games where both the devil, and the enjoyment, is entirely in the details. It's so freakishly sandbox, that there are damn near infinite ways to play it.

The fun comes from playing, dying, and trying different things. It's got a ton of different interaction options with almost everything, and so many features and events and items in it that you could play it for months and still find something new.

Thread is for Elona discussion, posting funny screenshots of stuff that has happened, and asking advice/having people give input on making random new runs.
