The Darkness 2 made me depressed. I didn't know a game could do that.. Seeing every scene with Jackie and his Girlfriend pulled my heartstrings. Jackie's only light in his life was destroyed, which was the final straw for him, releasing once dormant the Darkness on the enemy Mafia.

I actually really like The Darkness 2, it's so underrated.
Bioshock made me pretty depressed, it was such a sad backstory. Especially with all the tapes and such you find around. Oh and Batman Arkham City got sad at some points.

The Dead Space franchise made me depressed once I was done. Don't get me wrong, they are some of my favorite games of all time; it's just that, every time you beat one, something happens right at the end to kill your sense of success, except maybe the second one. I'll refrain from spoilers in case anyone hasn't played them but intends to, but I played through 3 and then the Awakened DLC, and at the end of Awakened I almost punched my computer.

The most depressing game was the Interactive Fiction "Vespers". Basically you're a monk and your brothers are dyig from the plague. So yeah, if you're into those old games with no pictures, play it.

The very first and only video game to genuinely make me cry out of sadness was Klonoa : Door To Phantomile for the PS1. I was relatively young then, but it can still bring tears to my eyes today. The game reflects some brilliant innocence, worldbuilding and sentimentalism that few games can reach nowadays, not to mention the magic of its soundtrack. If you are willing to get yor hands on a PS1 emulator, I highly recommend it (I don't recommend the Wii remake one bit).
The gameplay is also very fun and unique, it always sparked my imagination.

The walking dead game is really depressing and it does make you tear up a little,
i dont see how the darkness is sad just didnt get any feels when playing the game and thought the ending was just stupid

One of the stories in Saints Row 2 was sad. A gang kills your best friends girlfriend and nearly your best friend. The best friend went to his Girls funeral and was attacked by the same gang. A shootout happened. The Friend then beat the hell out of the gang leader and did the most screwed up thing ever. He pulled his girlfriends body out of the casket and buried the enemy gang leader alive without a second thought. Even your character paused to think but he ended up shoveling dirt too. it was messed up.

The Walking Dead (GOD THE END OF FIRST SEASON poor Clem...), Final Fantasy 7 and Crisis Core(seriously I literally cried days after finishing it.......), To the Moon, Heavy Rain, OFF (was pretty depressing at the end... totally really liked the plot twist at the end), Witch's House (plot twist again..), Yume Nikki, and Kingdom Hearts: 358/5, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth by Sleep.
All of the games I listed made me cry like a BABY.

The Visual Novel "Fate/Stay night" and "Grisaia no Kajitsu" got me really good. The background of some characters were really though stuff. I mean, it was impossible to look at them the same way after you learned about their past.

The ending of crisis core got me all teared up, and that bit in metal gear four where raiden is nearly crushed to death by that ship got me too
