If the end explains absolutely everything then sure, it can redeem itself, but if a hole is never explained like in some episodes, it bothers me. That and when there's like 3 pages worth of explanation it is incredibly boring and I lose interest. I usually stick with the ones that are balanced and they explain things along the way.
Hence why I despise the ending to the Soul Eater anime. The manga is explained very well, and up until the end everything added up in the anime; then they went off on a tangent that made no sense at all.
Haven't seen much of One Piece, what I have seen, I've liked though. Makes sense, good animation, funny. It's actually worth watching.
