When you first fight the dragon with whiterun soldiers. Well I was on the tower thing and shooting arrows,casting magic and when the dragon died.. I jumped off the tower...and Died.
Had to start the whole fight over again.

lol i had just got done with an epic dragon battle then just as the dragon died a giant hit me and i went flying to my death ;-;

I was climbing a mountain and I told it to jump, and it wouuldn't so i started mashing the jump button, and it moonjumped. Then it died. Then i killed myself

Whenever I get a companion, they always end up running to random places!! Sooo annoying!!

I saw this guy glitch he went all the way up in the sky...as I was looking at him he finally crashed down and died..I got to steal his stuff (Win) but the guards blamed me for his death and made me pay the fine. (fail) T_T

I was doing a Thief's Guild mission, the first one actually, where you have to sneak onto an island and set fire to some beehives and also steal some letters.

Well, I was in the process of sneaking through the garden. There were guards patrolling all around, but I didn't care; my Dark Brotherhood armor set and my 100 sneak should have been enough to keep me hidden.

But as I crawled through the grass, I heard something.. The flapping of wings, and a deep, guttural roar. I thought to myself, 'Oh no..' as a Frost Dragon descended upon the island and began to blast a wave of ice at me, and me alone. I got up from my crouched position and took off at a sprint, looking for a place to get away from the dragon.

Now, the guards had noticed the dragon, and with it, me. But it seems their puny brains were too stupid to comprehend that the dragon was a greater threat than I; they began pelting arrows at me and chasing me down.

So, there I was, running from a dragon and a fleet of guards in the middle of the night, when I came across a small, shallow pit with some loose bones in it. I decided to cut right through it, not thinking due to my current danger level.

However, Skyrim is a Bethesda game, and physics tend to not like the player.

I suppose I stepped on a very angry ribcage, as I suddenly launched 50 feet into the air in ragdoll mode (as though I'd been hit by a Giant) and came crashing back down to the earth, which killed me.

That, ladies and gentlemen of the Dollars, was my worst (and best) Skyrim experience.

I'm sick of people saying this game suck. I personally really enjoyed it, why can't we hate on BAD games instead of nit-picking like a bunch of Arrogant assholes

This one. Because I'm one of those people.

Skyrim was an okay game. It had a great deal of content, and very pretty graphics.

That's where it ended. The combat is archaic, hit detection is rather shoddy, skills and combat are easily broken and OP, the storyline is subpar, it relies heavily on the community itself to modify it to their liking, the list goes on.

The game on it's own is what I see as a crowning achievement of failure for the mass gamers. They completely ignored any type of quality, enrapturing story or character development in favor of "Look, we have lots of things for you to do! Look at our pretty world!"

It's quantity over quality. Nothing in this game is beyond okay, because they didn't devote enough time to make it any better. They wanted to shove in as much to do as possible inside of a world filled with amazing graphics. Even the developers understand this - Bethesda games are made with the modding in mind. They anticipate that their game on it's own will just be an average, expensive, time consuming experience.

So they encourage people to modify it to their liking. Encourage people to devote themselves to the code rather than the result. Mods are a massive selling point for games like Skyrim... But you need to remember that mods are not skyrim. They are things players added on to change skyrim because it was somehow inferior to begin with - Or could have just been done better if a little effort was put into it.

To any gamer who has been waiting for seasons now for games to get back to their roots and release quality over quantity, function over graphic, Skyrim is like a slap in the face.

It's the physical incarnation of Game developers saying "Why make great games when we can make good ones and sell them just as easily?"

It's the game version of going to a variety buffet instead of a devoted restaurant. You want to eat lots of different things? We can do that! But none of them will be Great. They will all be okay, or sub-par.

It's the sacrifice you make for diversity.

To gamers like myself, this sacrifice is inexcusable.

My biggest "Skyrim Fail" is playing this thing in the first place, and the fandom of it only amplifies that fail.

Yes a lot of what goes on in Skyrim may NOT be the most awesome thing that has ever happened in the history of ever, the combat is clunky, but that's the way it is in EVERY game. nothing will ever be perfect in terms of beating the shit out of people in a videogame. Some spells are most definitely OP, but that adds to the feeling of you being a badass, and unless you're playing on easy mode, even that feeling doesn't last long because there will ALWAYS be something that will kick your ass.

The main story wasn't very orignal and up until near the end (and maybe the Thalmor stealth mission, but thats because i enjoy stealth and despise the thalmor)it may not have been overly enjoyable, but i think that a lot of the side missions, including the daedric, college, and companions missions were enjoyable for me, The Dark Brotherhood started out slow, especially compared to the diversity of the oblivion DB missions, but near the end they got insanely brutal and very enjoyable for me.

As for the quality over quantity debate, I can see how some of the stories or ideas could have been improved if they had not been so focused on diversity of the game, but i personally would rather have a bunch of fun and enjoyable things to do than one centralized amazing thing that sort of burns you out on only one thing (unless it's like MGS4 badass, but even then there was a decent ammount of diversity and choice aspects in the game as far as how you decide to play the game).

TL;DR your arguments are valid, but i enjoyed the fuck out of it regardless, so no fucks are given.

Yeah, it's mainly a crowd thing. It is an okay game, and it caters towards the crowd who prefers quantity over quality. It is by no means a bad game, it's just drastically not geared towards the kind of games gamers like myself prefer.

It bugs me that people still trumpet it as Best Game Ever without acknowledging that it does have flaws in it and that other games are better at what they do.

As a personal note, I didn't know that spells got broken later on - I was full on Thief. having a 6-15x sneak attack damage made pretty much every fight "lol, I win". Coupled with stealing equipment and items clean off people's backs... There was nothing worth doing that couldn't be done within a few minutes of effort. Not counting the time it took to read/get places.

Ok, here's my story: When I unmounted my horse one time, it stepped backward, and flew off the edge of High Hrothgar. Lost 1000 gold that day. (Btw, I have NO idea on how to get Shadowmere. I played Oblivion, but Skyrim looks so... different.)

This game, in my opinion. Not my type.

My newest blunder was making a Khajiit named "Puss in Boots" and due to its auto saves, i can load my level 49 dark elf.

On my second playthrough of the game I also decided to play as a khajiit, except I went a little overboard with pickpocketing civilians in towns/villages. It was good that I leveled up to about level 10 before I even fought the first dragon purely off of leveling sneak and pickpocket, but it soon turned into an addictio. Now, after dozens of hours have been put into this file, I have bounties in 7 of the 9 holds and I can`t even walk near a major city without getting a couple of guards to chase me around.

In Riften to get Honeyside. Finished the quests, get house, gets title of thane easy! So, finished the quests to buy my house, buy my house and then decided I'm going to go look at it. Came back talked to the Jarl to get my title of Thane. No dice....response for the end of the Thane quest, gone. *eyetwitch* Go back to reload before screwing up and find out that the last save file before that, had been four hours ago. Thanks auto save. *sigh* Restarted quests, remembered this glitch, got my house and my title. I'm not too far into it at the moment but I'm having fun playing. ^_^

OK, heres the thing, I generaly don't like popular games, but Skyrim is actually a good game! And I'm sick of idiots like the OP continuing to lash out at Skyrim just because it has a few flaws. Glitches are glitches, the game is MASSIVE, there is no possible way to find every bug.And by the way, noting that there is so much data and textures, there is no way to make the graphics look perfect. So fuck you haters. Be proud that a good game like Skyrim is available. Just think of this, it's better than the next 5,000 COD's being shat out.

ANYWAYS, I have a new one.
I was trying to get the ebony claw, but instead of being a claw, it pretended to be a torch in a dead guards hand. It took me like 5 minutes of maneuvering the dead bodies and moving around to finally find and retrieve it.

I LOST SHADOWMERE! I dont know if he fell off a cliff or is waiting somewhere. anyone know if he reappears at the dark brotherhood pool you get him from in the first place?

I had just sold all my armor for money to buy a house (since I knew the place I was going had better armor anyways). Got stuck between two rocks with about 4 mudcraps coming at me... I died.

Lol, also, on one of my characters, at about level 30 I raan into a frost dragon and elder dragon at the same time. I was able to get away with a sliver of helth.. But then an arrow from a forsworn archer from buttfuck NOWHERE hits me and kills me.

... XD I'm a lv. 15 in this game with lv. 30 smithing XD

But i know longer play it since i have more thingas that require my attention, and video gaming is sadly not one of them.

I think that there is a sense of fail in one of the easter eggs of the game. apparently (i personally can not confirm this, but it has been said by many others) there is a pickaxe in the game that makes a reference to minecraft, or the creator of minecraft or something, yet Bethesda is suing the minecraft guys.

Has anyone lost track of shadowmere and found him later in a specific spot other than the stables? I hear a rumor that eventualy he stops at the pool at the dark brotherhood base. Im really going through the map in a grid search trying to find him. while i see its pointless to ride a horse in skyrim if i cant sword fight while riding i still like looking demonicly evil on shadowmere. please help!

Here is one of the glitches I had...

EARLIER today i was playing the game... and then took an arrow in the back. IT DID NOT DISAPPEAR. so annoying its and eye sore.

Basically... I advise you do The Golden Claw mission after you get done with all the starting stuff like talking to Gerdur/Alvor because it's easier to do that so you can fight yer first dragon early.

Okay, I I was outside roaricstead (the place with the blackbriars and the thrives guild I think) and right as I get done helping the stablehand with his debt, a dragon plops down in the road. So the stablehand, khajaro, and I kill this thing. Sometime along the way he must've accidentally hit the kid or something, cuz the guy starts attacking kajaro. I don't want to start a scene (it's annoying) so I run inside the city. At first I think it's all good, but the dude COMES INTO THE TOWN AFTER HIM. naturally kajaro kills him and a guard walks up, looks at the dude, turns around and goes "theres's been a murder!" then walks back to his post as I stand over his dead body........

It was so much fun to watch :3

NEW EPIC FAIL! Alright, so, this time, when I was running around outside Whiterun killing deer and wolves, and foxes with a bow and some arrows, I got so carried away with hunting them all, by the time I was done, I had run all the way to Solitude. I guess that isn't much of a fail, but oh well.

Well I had Lydia as a follower and I was doing those first three mini missions that Nazir in the dark brotherhood gives you before your first primary contract(keep in mind I did this story line early in the game). She screwed up all three of my sneak attacks for all three of those people, so eventually I got so pissed off at her that I went all the way up to the throat of the world with her and shouted her off. The only problem was that she landed on a dragon and she some how got back up to were I was and then they both started attacking me.

I couldn't decide weather to laugh at this whole thing or throw my xbox out of the window.

My companions quest line glitched up, just after the Silver Hands attack Jorvasker (think I spelt that right). I had huge trouble defeating Kev the Skinner, and now I have to start the game again if I want my platinum trophy. :-(

During the Dark Brotherhood mission to assassinate Gaius Maro, I decided to make my strike on him in Whiterun. I ended up attacking him during the day, which was a major screw-up, since I forgot to cure my vampirism the day before. I used a x15 sneak dagger attack on him which pretty much one-shot him, but one of the guards managed to spot me. So there I was, running across Whiterun being pelted with arrows and watching in horror as my health refused to regenerate. Surprisingly enough, I actually made it out alive (by ingesting a fortune's worth of potions), so it's not too much of a fail. It was more of a slight victory with an excess of fail sprinkled on it.

-Was at Roggvir's execution in Solitude

-Decided to get out a bow and arrow

-Shot a guard in the head thinking Roggvir would be saved

-Running aross the town while throwing Roggvir's corpse in the fire pit

Lost my ally for at least 5 hours of gameplaying. Probably more like 20. They come back out of nowhere after a fast travel, and I lose them again a couple hours later. That bitch best not be dead, I just barely gave her dragon armor.

Another bad fail I had, was when I started the quest line in Windhelm (something about a butcher?). Anyways, I glitched it up so badly that I can't collect anymore clues from Hjerm. Not only that, but before I got into this quest, I had already completed the Civil War quest line, and had bought Hjerm to live in it. I'm now living in the den of a crazed necromancer, blood staining the whole house. And did I mention I'm not allowed to decorate it? X-(

Here is a good one. I fast travled to a Storm Cloak camp because I was needed there. But when I got there, I saw a horse floating over another. I walked around it thinking it would be fixed. Got my mission, and did it. After I was done completing a mission, and at least one skyrim day had passed, I return to see the horse still floating over the other.

But wait there is more!


I looked at it for a bit and then out of nowhere, the top horse gains an infinite velocity and ROCKETS into the sky! While I am laughing horribly, which lasted for five minutes, he lands right back ON THE SAME HORSE! Completely devoid of harm! I looked at it and the horse on top began to slide off. He touches the ground, takes two steps and...

GGRAASGHFH!!! (Oh hush, I don't know what sound it made)

It falls over dead. And that was the most interesting thing I saw in Skyrim.

I took an arrow in the knee.
Now I have to tell random Dovahkiins that approach me my life story. Or just some random crap on my mind.

After I finished the Stormcloak questline, I saw the gathering of a small stormcloak army as the best moment to test a shout I had learned a while before. I got to the highest point overlooking the soldiers as I could and used Storm Call. Dozens of lightning bolts stroke and killed them all in mere moments. In short, I felt like a badass god of thunder.

My biggest fail was in the very beggining of the game
I found a wagon (one of those small carts lying around) I thought it would be fun to jump on... It glitched up and began flailing about- then my character died...

other fail is I got my butt kicked by the greybeards... (they have a think for beating the crap out of you and then freezing you; just so they can beat the crap out of you again after you've thawed out and your health has regened...

Haha! Today I saw a party of Imperials with a Stormcloak soldier. Kicked the Imperials arses! Didn't wait for them to attack me first. Big bounty added to Solitude... :'(

Walking down the road, visiously mauled by a saber lion, not a saber cat, a saber lion, apparently it's some easter egg that rips you a new one.

I was invited to the Nordic Space Program...It didn't really end well...

Not exactly a fail, but I was fighting a dragon, and halfway through fighting I absorbed its soul and it turned into a skeleton... except it wasn't dead yet. after that it wouldn't take any damage. so there's this unkillable skella-dragon-whatever romping through one of my saves.

I like to launch my dragons after I kill them. Shoot them with a dual-cast firebolt. They go flying. One time, I launched it before I searched it, and I lost everything the dragon had inside. It went so far, the game removed the body from the landscape.

I left the Abandoned Shack and heard a roar, but couldn't see anything anywhere. I looked all around, and nothing. Suddenly, a giant burst of ice breath rains from the sky and annihilates me and my horse. I didn't ever see the dragon.

I was going down the mountain after having just defeated Krosis and I fell from a steep hill and died. I had to go back and kill him again because I forgot to save...

I had an explosive mod before, well I did something with it and I glitched the game and blew up the entire world...Dungeons and houses only survived that time...

First time i went to the Dwemer dungeon where i got the Elder Scroll, I went through the dungeon and did the puzzle, then forgot to grab the scroll. Got out, fast traveled away, then realized i didn't get the scroll, and had to run back through the dungeon.

It was after i fought some stormcloak soldier in the mountain road. I brought uthgerd but she's gone. After searching for minutes, I realized that the first person who I silent-killed when I met the stormcloaks was uthgerd.

i was playing once and the random generator had some fun..... i found a rabit was chasing it then a wolf cam, then a bear, then 2 saber cats and they all fought and killed each other but one of the cats won and then a dragon cam so i almost beat the dragon i turn around and a giant coms and kills the dragon so i just left cause i didnt wanna knw what came next

I kept losing my companions because I told them to wait somewhere and I didn't remember when that 'somewhere' was. So, I spent hours looking for the fucker just to find that I told him to wait in Whiterun inside Dragonsreach. Fucking Facepalm.

I was walking around Whiterun until I stole a peice of cabbage...I had no money nor wanted to go to jail so I resisted arrest and fought the gaurd, when I was fighting the gaurd, more gaurds came and told me to pay or go to jail, which ended up killing me anyway...FUCKING I WAS ALREADY TOLD BY THE 1ST ONE BEFORE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO ASK ME AGAIN!

2 dragons, whiterun soldiers and giants attacking me at the sametime, i was so sour.

So here I am, minding my own business trying to use a console command to find one of my missing followers n possibly loot them if theyre dead, and boom! I teleport to "unknown place", which just so happens to be filled with dead bodies and for some reason a random alive person, and all the doors,theres four doors btw, go back to the same area! Possibly the most frightening part of the entire game.
Also not so much a fail.. but I felt I should share it nonetheless.
In other words, DONT TRY N FIND A MISSING FOLLOWER USING CONSOLE COMMANDS

Thanks to having like 57 lock picks I managed to pick a master level lock only to be smacked away by a giant

I got a dog. I told him to wait in the Thieves' Guild headquarters. When the questline advanced for the Thieves' Guild and the script engine for that area was altered, the programmers did not account for the possibility that someone would leave their dog there, so my dog disappeared. It made me sad...

Biggest fail yet.
Employee who worked on Fallout: New Vegas left Bethesda and said that the engine for Skyrim would have problems with the DLC on PS3. Bethesda doesn't listen. MFW.

I honestly think Bethesda is just a big fail group.

>>147 Basically what Bethesda did was degin the game for the 360, then tried to port it over to the PS3 (which is why that version is so bad). Now the DLC interfering with old problems makes things even worse. So it's possible that the PS3 won't ever get Dawnguard.
