Anybody here excited for the new Metal Gear? Sure it's nothing like the old ones but I think it might be good. I've followed Metal Gear since game one and I adore it. I understand that many people don't like this new one but I personally look forward to it!

Well, I've played the games before and I have to say they are very good (in my personal opinion) lol. I'm not gonna write down the whole story of the games here. You can check that in Wikipedia or whichever page you want to check. In the other games before this one the weapons are guns, bombs, etc. (stuff like that) while in this one, the weapon the main character uses is a sword. (Reason why many people don't like it and also because Snake isn't in it). But the main character in this one is seen in past Metal Gear games. His name is Raiden. But yeah, the Metal Gear series has variety and great story behind it. I highly recommend it. Personally, my favorite one is the third one! You should check em out! (Anyone feel free to correct me if I said anything wrong).

Thanks for the info! It seems like a great game and I personally don't really care what the main weapon is as long as the game is fun haha :P. and personally I suck at Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Anyways, I think I will check it out.

From what i heard they programed in the game to recognize what parts of the enemy Raiden cut with his sword, but this makes me all the more certain my mother should never see me play this. :)

I am definitely looking forward to this. I've played the demo and from what I've played, this is definitely looking like my game of the year and we're only 2 months into the year. Loved the demo, Raiden is my favourite Metal Gear character and I love the more action/hack 'n slash gameplay style they've gone with this one. Kind of like the Devil May Cry games to me, but even more brilliant, because it's got all that Metal Gear awesomeness to it.

It's an epic game, or at least that's what I got from the demon. I have been playing the series since MGS1 and I have loved it ever since then. I think they worked wonders with Raiden's development, because in the second game, his debut game, he was the gayest character I had ever played as, and I don't just mean in Metal Gear, but now he is one of the most awesome characters. He also has a very intriguing past

I like how when it revolved around Solid Snake, it was called Metal Gear Solid, and was a stealth-based game. Now that it revolves around Raiden, they changed the name to Metal Gear Rising since the playstyle changed. I like that the name changed to represent a playstyle change.

I like how they keep a pattern of main playable characters like MGS1 is snake MGS2 is raiden MGS3 is big via (naked snake) then MGS4 is snake again, rising will be raiden and then they are also making ground zero which appears to be big boss, I really love the metal gear series.

I absolutely LOVED this game, it would be far more popular though if you didn't have to the MGS series history
