It all depends on personal preference or what you are going to use it for.
Most xbox users will say xbox kicks ass n ps3 sucks giant donkey dong, while ps3 users will say the opposite.
i personally think n64 is the shit.

I personally love my PS3, and all old school nintendo consoles but i get the feeling that some people will look to this thread to find which console they should get, so if it's alright, i'd like to post a pro-con one....mostly because i already have one almost fully written out, lol.

I don't really prefer one console over another. I got a ps3 mostly because you get to go online for free. Ps2, N64, and SNES have really good games though.

There really is no best gaming system .. these days they are all the same with the same games and similar hardware and communities .. if you are after differences in consoles look into the past with like the era of the N64 and when Sega was still big .. those were the days off different consoles.

Not taking price into consideration PC is by far the best hardware to play video games on.
- Always will have the highest graphics possible as you can upgrade you system.
- Ability to play all game made for it no matter how old they are.
- Can play older game systems through emulators
- Can be played with any controller you want
- Mods

A PC can have either the best or worst specs, depending on how deep your wallet is. The Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and PS1 were amazing, but out of the current systems, I prefer the PS3

I eternally feel that the GameCube was the most amusing console ever released in America. I enjoy using the Xbox and Wii, and the N64 was a bit before my time, but I will always remember GC as the most fun to use. It had the best games and best controls of its time. It was also one of the sturdiest; you don't have to worry about the "red ring of death" when you're using a GC.
I wish they were still releasing games for it, but I understand that the limited graphics and customization are nothing compared to modern consoles. Still... :<
I can't say anything about the PS series, but that's only because I haven't properly played with one in a while.
