Now, i've heard that he isn't Dante, he's just a fool that calls himself Dante but the real Dante will appear in the game too.

I heard that was the legit Dante, simply before he went all white haired and that through out the game, he would evolve into the (for lack of a better word) real Dante.

i hate that the new devil trigger is not transforming into a devil but he doesn't awaken that power until he fights his brother on number 3. plus you can't judge a game bye a few clips and the way the new character looks u never know this dante might be cooler than the older one. But no sword will be as cool as his rebellion or alastor.

i want vergil or nero ~_~ their so awesome, i liked dante wen he's grown but not as a teen (or watever the hell he was in DMC 3)

I have connections when it comes to the upcoming games and I heard that the new DMC game was meant to be another Prequel...of a Prequel. About what happened before he discovered his devil powers.

Nah, like I said (just don't hold me up on it as I've yet to get every bit of information) that this is BEFORE he obtains his powers. He always had it, but this is before his demon powers have awakened, and thus he is just like a normal human with small bursts of 'different' (his powers coming in and out at small bursts due to it being in his blood) at times.

This also makes more sense in terms of the game, than some unrelated shit that's been mentioned, wouldn't you agree?

According to Dengeki Playstation, it takes place in a parallel world, where this Dante is a half-angel/half-devil. Our Dante from Devil May Cry still exists in his own timeline, however.

Hopefully, then, there is another one in the works that goes back to the original Dante. This one, really, I could care less about, then. I don't care about some new story for some new, Alternate reality Dante. I only liked to follow the original story line.

i like the old dante better. but i head that capcom handed the directives to ninja theory (especially dante new look) and i also heard that Ninja Theory confirmed that they will use the Unreal Engine for the new game and not the MT Framework of Capcom (used for Devil May Cry 4). Pulse Originally, Ninja Theory's redesign was still somewhat similar to the "classic Dante," but Capcom told them to keep going further away from that design to something new.

I don't know what to think about it... Well, you know, I used to see Dante as really awesome and sexy guy with white hair. His face... it's not the same. That guy just stole Dante's name, and that's all. I don't want to play it and I won't buy it.

@31 Nah, this is an alternate reality Dante. If Dante was a kid and still had his white hair (during his days living as Tony Redgrave, watch DMC Animated to find out more) then how did his hair change black?
Also, Dante doesn't smoke, since the original creator thought that Dante was too cool to smoke, since back in the day, smoking characters had a certain "cool" factor to them.

This isn't an IDEA they are doing. So they ARE making the game.

It's just an Alternate Reality. Thus the Dante you know, will still exist in his Time-Line.

I also don't like the new Dante either but it is an alternate reality so old Dante may still exist.

My guess is that this is a younger Dante...Remember in DMC 3 how young he was? They did it again but he's now like 17. Basically by the end of the game his is going to become the Dante we all know and love.

I'm pretty sure the gameplay will be awesome as is every other Devil May Cry game, but why change the character design? He was good the way he was... White haired and sometimes shirtless... Now he looks like a jacked up meth addict with Edward Cullen hair.

I have heard some good reviews about the game so far, but I haven't played the demo so I can't really judge it fairly. Somebody just told me that it was better than 2 and I haven't played 2 yet but from what he told me 2 sucked. Now I'm just sad to hear from another person that it sucked. I'll play the demo to check it out but there's no guarantee that I'll but the game...

Actually a lot of reviewers have recently come up and stated that they were paid by other groups, to review the game as good, no matter if it's good or not.

It's an alright game, kind of a watered down version of the originals though. I'm probably going to get it either way since the setting and story interests me, though I'm going to have to get used to the change in the controls.

Seems like I'll have the unpopular opinion here, but the game is awesome. The gameplay is smooth (on 360, don't know about PS3), the controls are easy and the same as every other DMC game, but with more standard weapons available (Rebellion, Ebony&Ivory, plus the scythe and ax) the combos are fresh, fast, and easy to chain.

The only complaint I can pony up after playing through on two separate difficulties is that the combo chains do make the game REALLY easy in some places (while in others...not so much), so I would recommend boosting your difficulty to the highest available on first playthrough if you're really impatient. Also, play time is extremely short. I beat the game in just under 10 hours on my first playthrough. Does warrant re-plays, if just for the unlockables.

Can't wait for the Vergil's Downfall DLC coming in February, though. That should be fun.

A lot of people are displeased with Dante's new look, but luckily his personality was preserved. Seriously, the new design isn't a big deal if you're willing to look past it and actually enjoy the game.

Not to mention you can get ALL of the "old" Dante designs as DLC for like $4. You also get a different new design as an unlockable when you beat the game.

the only thing i did not like about this game was 1. vergils an ass hole with no honor 2 . to dirty of scenes 3. no lock on and 4 VERGILS AN ASSHOLE WITH NO HONOR . o and also the fact that spardas kind of a pussy in the new one . I mean come sparda and virgel are characters you don't mess with like take dante at least is similar to the old one in some ways but vrgil he shouts a fucking female demon womb out out kills the child and then blast her in the head . its just what the hell man come on not to mention vergil does not use guns . but aside from that i actually think the characters look kinda cool if they were younger versons and not a dame reboot .

Hate to say it but I feel DMC5 will be the killer of the series.

68 - capcom will probably continue the original series because if any of you would read capcom stated that this game was NOT going to be dmc 5 .in one of the vidieo they did early on .

Case in point, all DMC = Silent Hill where you're badass and free ranged. Most people don't really care about the story... You can just give the 'Murican audience killing and death and well shall be sated.
