Shadow Dragon was epic, that is until i played other ones. in comparison, it sucks. i get play them on an emulator.

a fire emblem thread huh? about time i say.
from what i heard about the newer games for the ds, they were kind of disappointing. most likely because they didn't use the support conversations that you found in the gba games. it was a really neat approach to individual character development, and really shined when seemingly unrelated characters had past experiences with each other. plus it's a shipper's paradise. oh, and i like the 2D expressionist sprites a lot more compared to the DS's style.
i just hope they return to that awesomeness someday. i don't want any more marth remakes if they are going to be so shallow.

2 new ones are coming, the remake of 3, which is the sequel to 1 (almost everyone from the first on's in it.) then there's gonna be one for the 3ds, brand new. i hated that they took out the support conversations, i loved those.

No post-game! What the heck!
All that work during the game, all that work through the paralogues to get new characters, and you can't even use them after the story is done! There's only random fights that show up after time and random fights with other teams. In SS, there was a Tower dungeon and a Ruins dungeon that had several floors to them, for an additional challenge after. But, there is no such easy way to get training. I would think they'd have the arena turn into a challenge map or something.

My second favorite game after Awakening is Fire Emblem for the gameboy advance which was the first one to be released out of Japan. Maybe I just love it for the nostalgia, but in my opinion, the characters were much more interesting than in Awakening.
