Demon Souls was a work of art that made me cry tears of frustration and joy. It was nintendo hard, it was that game to answer the prayers of everyone like me who wanted to know "where did all the challenging games go?"

I will buy this. If it's Xbox only, I will buy an Xbox just to play this. I will be playing this game like my life depends on it when it comes out, fuck everything else in my entire life.

Here's hoping the dungeons and bosses get harder.

Okay, I have the Gargoyle Axe, Gargoyle Halberd and the Drake Sword. All of them are hardcore and awesome.

But since I've rung the first bell, not sure what to do. Darkroot has some carpetbombing hydra that is making my life miserable, the graveyard is still fairly user unfriendly, and I hate that damned carpa demon boss.

...I'd grind, but, you know. Shit for soul gain right now.

After ringing the first bell I am filled with nothing but despair. I can either get torn to pieces by ghosts, get killed by an army of skeletons, or get molested by the Carpa demon. Decisions Decisions.

Side note: Drake Sword is glorious.

You could also try the Darkroot Forest, past that titanite demon that shoots lightning at you beyond the blacksmith. If you can manage to kill the hydra there, you get a shortcut into the Darkroot Garden - Which is pretty painful.

Uh.. After I hit the second bell I finally decided I'd hit up the Depths/Blighttown. Fucking hell, Blighttown is not a place you want to experience twice... But it's the easiest way to go. Once you get to the swamp, I suggest finding the shortcut that takes you through Valley of Drakes -> Ando Londa -> Firelink so you can get out for a while and skip blighttown henceforth.

Right now I'm just putting off killing queelag.

Double posting, damn it.

Capra tip that makes the fight so beautiful:
Soon as you get in, dash and roll past everything. Ignore the hell out EVERYTHING. Run up the stairs until you hit the wall, then run out to your right.

If done correctly, you msnaged to hop out onto a stone archway next to the stairs. The capra demon can't hit you here and will continuously jump off the stairs trying to. The two dogs can still be a pain - but if you have a spear or something, you can easily dispatch them now that you're not worried about the capra.

As for the capra, fall damage will eventually kill it - But to speed up the process, I suggest using magic, or, in my case, arrows. You can just lock on and spam R1.
if you get knocked off somehow, just rush back up the stairs and repeat.

I'm actually avoiding the soul farming in Darkroot because I don't want to make the game too easy with super stats - Even though any amount of advantage in this game is always welcomed.

Haven't tackled sif yet though. I hear his weakness is to stay underneath of him - literally, underneath.

Ever since I saw the opening I've wanted to fight Nito. After fighting him I am filled with nothing but disappointment. Pyromancy is just to good.

Am I the only one who keeps mental score of when your friendship level with an NPC goes up? It's not actually a feature in game, but considering how isolated and lonely Dark Souls is supposed to make you feel, I find myself forming connections with the few NPCs that don't try to kill me.

Queelana and white-spider flags are at the top of my list on things to get. Right up there with hunting down and murdering Lautrec - I will never forgive him for making me hike from the bottom of Blighttown, all the way back to firelink, shortcut or not, only to find that my bonfire stopped working.

I recently started playing this game, because I'm a filthy casual and am years behind in the vidya scene, and it's a pretty great game.
I like that it takes some thought to beat and not just mindless button mashing.

Also, PC Dark souls is great (with a controller), and has multiple patches that make the online smoother. Also Darksouls 2 will definitely not have the same online issues as the first.

Nothing says 'fearless hero' than a fat person throwing themselves on the ground trying to roll.

My current armour is basically a piece of cloth though so I should consider efficiency over looks before I get stabbed to death again.

Dark Souls has been my great white buffalo of gaming.

It's always been the game I want to try the most, but I never have a system that can play it. It just seems like this amazing, massive RPG that I'm missing out on.

I like the change they made to invasions when if you're human it's harder if not impossible to be invaded or take part in coop, but easier when hollow. it was one of the most annoying thongs to have to constantly waste humanity in places like anor londo. The jump animation seems a lot more fluid, and dare I say the game looks even prettier than before

All in all I was good with invaders, but there was times where I would be trying to coop n just didnt have the time to deal, n anor londo being the hot spot for pvp that it is, time uninvaded is very rare.

Played both DS and DS2 more hours that I spend learning for my exams, and I still went to university to study :P

I played DS over 500 hours and played DS2 300+ hours so far, I really like both games for their fair gameplay and nice hidden story, though I loved Dark Souls more.

SO, i have not played demons souls, but i have played dark souls 1 and 2. And frankly, i like Dark souls 1 more. And yes i know this is due to there being two different creators, but i find that the it is easier to understand the story line in dark souls 1, and it seems that dark souls 2 is just a remake of the old story ( which is fine ). There is nothing specific that i can say why i like part 1 more, i just do.
