double post name now in use for the second time ever.
>>11 pretty much has it down pat, but i would add that not only does the marker seal the necromorphs int heir home planet, but it also seems (to me at least) to be something that they worship, and it causes dementia in the average person, causing them to see people dearest to them who aren't really there, and overall doing some crazy things.
>>12 you really should. I don't mean to bring in a negative subject, but if you do end up playing the Resident Evil games, maybe you'll see why some people were dissapointed in the movies. keep in mind though that Resident Evil 1-3 plus 0, Code veronica X, and others, play way differently from Resident Evil 4 and 5, which is what I feel Dead Space relates to. the whole time i was playing Dead Space, i couldn't stop making comparisons to RE 4, the gameplay and some of the side things are very similar, but i feel that the lighting affetcs helped make the atmosphere of Dead Space more creepy, and therefore it was a scarier game. Dead Space 2 is definitly still pretty creepy, but the lighting isnt as spooky as DS 1, so it's not AS scary. aside from that, in DS2 the story takes place not on a single ship, btu rather on a space station with considerably more people, and therefore more necromorphs, so it's a bit more action oriented, but not in a bad way.
