EA pulls another dick move? (3)

Today EA games launched their own online store, called Origin, to compete with Steam. Most, if not all EA games have been pulled off Steam, such as Crysis 2 and the pre-orders for Battlefield 3.

Normally, this wouldn't be a dick move as EA owns the rights to their own games and hence can distribute them as they see fit. However, Origin is region locked, meaning Aussies can only buy from the Aussie store, and vice-versa. Now after doing some reconnaissance with some American friends, I found out that Australians are paying much more than Americans for the same game.

However, if you read EA's terms and conditions, you discover another dick move - THEY WILL NOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY GAMES PURCHASED OVER ORIGIN WILL BE ABLE TO BE DOWNLOADED A YEAR AFTER THE PURCHASE DATE. That means that there is the distinct possibility that you will have to pay 2 or 3 times for a game you already own.

If anyone wants to witness the shitstorm that's going down, visit Reddit to witness all the justified rage.

This sounds like news to me.

Probably go in the News board.

But yeah, this... this really is a dick move. What the hell, gaming companies? Did 2012 flip your bitch switches for your fanbase?
