Dead Space, Fable, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Crysis 2 just came out. It's pretty tough not to just list a bunch of shooters. Arcade Games if you're into 'em Castle Crashers and Scott Pilgrim
Sorry for not checking on this. I definitely love the tales of series and I have beaten vesperia. I do own a lot of fps (mw2 is the best out there so far). I didn't like mass effect because of it's gameplay, and I'm not a big fan of fable either but I think ill give it another try. I wanna try red dead redemption and dead space, only If I had the money.
I'm not much into single player games anymore (none really challenge, and everything has been done before), but here are some of my older favorites:
Suikoden 2 (PS1) Amazing game, 108 characters, nice 16bit 2D sprites, amazing story, parties of 6. Its turn based in combat and free running around towns and the world map. Honestly, I have very very high standards when it comes to rating games...this one is definitely a 10/10.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) Above average story, in a mesmerizingly dark themed world (though all Castlevanias are). 2D as well, side-scrolling adventure/action game (though it goes up and down as well). I'd say around a 9.
Pokemon: Red/Blue/Yellow (Gameboy) Yay nostalgia...replays are always fun, especially without the crappy new Pokemon in the game. So many hours on a tiny black and white screen as a small child...can't really rate this one (it doesn't feel like a 10 but its just so dear to me...)
I'm just going to start listing some good ones now...
Final Fantasy 3/6 (3 in America, 6 in Japan-- SNES)
Bioshock (Xbox 360, one of the very very few good newer games, story/world is just so amazing)
Final Fantasy 9 (PS1)
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (DS)
Didn't want to name the classics like "Final Fantasy 7" and "Super Mario Brothers". Newer games just seem like they suck to me, companies don't spend enough time on them because they put too much effort into graphics, and they have to get their game out before other companies do.
I only really play online games now. Only for player versus player content, PvP wasn't made to be beaten. Shooters are good too, but Black Ops fails because they took out Slight of Hand pro for sniper rifles (other than that it is actually a decent, not great mind you, game). Shooters I only really like though, if they are based off of real guns; mainly currently used guns, not old WW2 guns...WW2 games are overused (and yes I know Black Ops isn't WW2).
