for all those Final Fantasy gamers, you should tell me your top 5 (1 being best) favorite FF game. either story wise or game play wise or both. i just want some opinions.

1. FF VII
Needs no explanation. Greatest game for gameplay, story, and at the time, graphics - and I've had this sentiment pre-AC hype.
2. FF IX
This one had some sort of charm to it that I liked. The characters were extremely likeable, and the gameplay mechanics were cool.
3. FF X
Amazing aesthetically and terrific plot. Got really absorbed into the story playing this one.
4. FF IV
I just really liked the story of this game. Gameplay wasn't too special comparatively, but I still liked it.
I also have a thing for summoners apparently.
5. FF VI
Kefka.

Well, I haven't played that many of them, but here:
FF XIII - Aesthetically pretty, and I like the ATB system.
FF I - The one that started it all. Plus the Groundhog Day Loop twist was interesting.
FF IV - Fun. Good protagonist.
FF Tactics Advance - I put like 200 hours into this game. It did something right. I'm ignoring the villain protagonist though.
Um... Tales of Symphonia.

1: Final Fantasy IV - I loved this game. Have no idea why but I fell in love with it and it's DS remake. Cecil and Kain was a brlliant pair of characters.
2: Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings - Mostly for the story here, Vaan was the only really lacking Character IMO.
3: FF VII What can I say, the start of Cloud and Sephiroth. It's also on Nintendo 64.
4: FF VI Kefka, One of the best villains ever. Wern't other keen on the characters but the story and gameplay was a-okay.
5: FF XIII I disliked the characters and the story but Gameplay and graphics managed to redeem itself.

1. FFVI - Kefka. Terra. Celes. Shadow. Dear god, Shadow.
2. FFT - Ramza, Miluda, Delita, Agrias, Alma... This story had a quality and depth that is practically unheard.
3. FFVII - I can't say this was an amazing groundbreaking story, but I just never get tired of playing it. Probably the battle/materia system.
4. FFIX - I really liked the way you could pretty much God-Mode yourself through the game if you played smart.
5. FFI - Ninjas! Ninjas everywhere!

As a sidenote, I feel like I should give honorable mention to the redheaded stepchild of the FF series... Mystic Quest. The story felt like a parody, if you squint there is Ho Yay, Phoebe was freaking insane, I hated the battles, and the final boss could be defeat at low levels by casting cure on the thing because a glitch made cure break the fucking damage limit.

It was a shitty game, I shudder to even classify it as FF, but damned if it's not a masochistic relationship that I keep putting myself through - Even if I have to drag out my SNES to do it.

1. FFIX: Vivi. and this is the first FF game i've ever played.
2. FFTactics: Ramza, Agrias, Orlandu, Cloud.
3. FFX: i really love the story of this one.
4. FFVII: i just love my combination of Cloud, Yuffie, and Vincent
5. FFXII: only because of Balthier and Fran. other than that, the game was bad.

1. Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy. What can I say? I love the game and everything about it. Got every character to leve l00 and I'm still not bored with it.
2. I have to say this is a huge toss-up between VII and IX. Both are amazing games with a lot to love about it, and I've grown quite addicted to both, even if I lack the ability to play them all the time.
3. DEFINITELY VIII. It, along with VII, were the first Final Fantasy games I ever played, and I loved this one almost as much as VII. It's also the first one I ever beat, the only other one that I've beaten being FF I on my GBA, and the music for VIII gets stuck in my head SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EASILY.
4. I have to say that one is definitely IV. I just love that game, and I think it's because of... well... EVERYTHING. It's just a great game.
5. X would have to be my shoe-in for the last slot. It's a great game but it doesn't quite compare with the aforementioned games.I love the game don't get me wrong, I just don't love it as much as the others.

Final Fantasy Tactics was created by the Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre team... In no way did it inspire tactical RPGs. It was, however, the product of a team of people who created the cornerstone definition games of that genre before it was heavily popularized by NIS.

But it was the Tactics Ogre series which inspired Tactical RPGs, and FF:T which brought them into mainstream light by way of franchise association - Then later taken, and ran with - by NIS, in Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, and most of their other assorted games. It became kind of their trademark.

Which is the reason why I am advocating for Project X Zone localization. Tactical RPGs need a new light in the Western audiance, and Tactics Ogre for the PSP wasn't able to give a spark, but something like Project X Zone should.

i own FF-1,2,7,8,X, X-2, XII, XIII, XIII-2< i want to own FF-XIV but i dont have money to buy it the only reson i got the other ones is i was given them or i got them with my B-day money when i got enough but im broke or i would try and get some kingdom hearts games and the FF-XIV oh well

The only one I've played through fully was FFIII on the iOS and I thought it was amazing. It was pretty challenging though and I ran into enemies every 2 steps :| I have FFVII (haven't touched it since May 2012 or even earlier lol) and I got as far as the end of the first disc, and it's pretty fun, but it sucks how you can only have 3 members out at a time, and there's like 9 main characters..

i so want to play FF-III

I love FF X and FF XIII. I loved the gameplay and storylines in both. Even if they were linear and didn't make sense to some I loved every minute of each game.
