So I'm considering possibly quitting WoW for another game, if I did this I'd be starting up the new game with my friend and possibly one other. Does anybody have any recommendations? I'd really like a great MMO, I don't care if its got a monthly fee or not - in fact I'd prefer it over a cash shop system. I'd really like an MMO with the polish that WoW has, such as the great controls and the convenient interface and whatnot. I'm really not too picky, but my friend is, so if anyone has some suggestions then post 'em here :). I've played a lot of f2p MMOs and a majority of them weren't really enjoyable for me, but who knows - maybe you guys have had better luck? Gogo! :D

Okay, I'm gonna stop trolling and give you soem pointers
1: Quitting WoW is hard, theres very few good alterntives.
2: If you want a more final fanatasy style game try Ragnorok Online
3: If your willing to be broader, Try Phantasy Star Blue Burst. I prefer his one but if you have no friends its hard to do much.
4: Don't do the new final Fanatsy trust me.
5: WoW is probs the best your gonna get,

.............. I liked maple story.

Don't judge.

To be honest, the MMOs I've played I've enjoyed based almost entirely on community rather than controls - So I can't really suggest much for you there.

We seem to be messing around in Kitsu Saga (we meaning various Dollars and myself/my guild), it's controls are no where near "polished" and it's not the most amazing game ever made, but the community seems nice so far.

Apple made a good point about Ragnarok Online. But it similarity with Final Fantasy isn't it's main attractive, since I don't really like FF and still have six years of Ragnarok with me.

But a good big 3D MMO is Aion. It's similar to WoW in the "race versus race" sistem, but I think it's more complete. And MUCH more beautyfull, indeed.

>>2 I've quit WoW before, that's not really an issue for me - its just there's really not much else to do. I've also tried RO but really didn't like it too much. I've been playing PSO for a looong time, recently stopped playing BB on schthack's server. I'm not touching the new FF, I've heard nothing but bad about it. WoW probably is the best I'm going to get.

>>4 Hmm, Kitsu Saga eh? I'll check it out, I'm really not that picky at all with games, and I pretty much play whatever game I know I can get my friends to play too - that's what its all about for me, getting my friends to play. As long as I can convince them then I'm in ;)

>>5 I played Aion at launch with 3 of my good friends that I've been playing games with for about 6 years - it was alright. I found that it seemed to be a huuuuge grind at the time - although the character creation was so absolutely outstanding that I would've continued playing, despite my dislike of the game's leveling system. The PvP seemed to be out of balance, something I'm sure many people QQ about all the time - although that's not the purpose of this thread so I won't go into that. If Aion has seen any sort of a major improvement since how it played out during launch then it may be worth a second look now, about a year later.

>>7 Welcome to the NHK

>>8 :( That sucks. My PC is decent, I mean it has always been able to run every game I've wanted to play on at least medium graphic settings, a majority able to be run on maximum.

But yeah, Kitsu Saga - according to the Dollars - is the next thing for me to check out. I'll take a look at it and see if its something I can pitch to my friend, he'll probably say no and call me a fag or something, but whatever haha. He's a ball buster 99% of the time, but hes really cool - games just aren't that fun to me if we're not all playing together.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, and sorry for the long post - I haven't been on since I made this thread so I figured I'd give all of your due responses at once instead of spreading it out. If you guys come up with any more suggestions or if you start playing any new games feel free to tell me about them :D.

>>9 Oh, Aion reached 2.0 some weeks ago. It got through a huge rebalancing of the PvP (despite the fact that people are now saying Sorcs pwn, my friends say it's now much better), the max level became 55 and they added Balaurea, the Balaur world for the players to explore.

I think it's worth the second chance. ;D

>>10 Alright then, I'll check it out. Hopefully its gotten a lot better. I don't know when I'll have the opportunity to jump into it, but if I do - and if the servers are still the same - I'll likely be on Israphel.

12 Name: Sirnak : 2010-10-22 13:28 ID:PSSv3db3 [Del]

They reduced the amount of servers too. I'm not pretty sure whose remains, but I still hear about Israphel. My friends play in Siel, anyway.

Just found out my Aion account is banned apparently. Second time this has happened, and each time its happened my Aion account wasn't even actually up. Gogo NCsoft! I don't have access to any of my CDkeys to have them unban me either. Ugh. Hopefully I can get that sorted out - I KNOW that I'm going to want to play it again in the (near) future.

14 Name: Sirnak : 2010-10-27 14:24 ID:1peALuKq [Del]

Hahaha, oh well. Did you lost your CD Keys?

I think there's a system to actually recover them in the NCsoft site.

Yeah I lost my CD keys too, but I worded my account recovery request very nicely and they returned it to me without any questions whatsoever :) Thanks for asking though :o

On a different note, I've been convinced back into WoW for cataclysm...plus I didn't play at all throughout WotLK. Death Knight sounds fun.

My friend said that Vindictus is an awesome f2p MMO, and he argues that it's better than WoW. It's worth checking out.

20 Name: N : 2010-11-23 19:50 ID:aGlZIbiN [Del]

Vindictus is awesome. It's nothing like WoW though. Watch this teaser trailer for the next class. It'll blow your mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hkungn2R4OU

Also, I play and enjoy Runes of Magic. It's one of the best F2P games out there. But I have feeling you may not like it since you are a WoW player. Which I don't say as an insult it's just people who play WoW seem to have trouble switching to other MMO's.

>>20 Agreed. Vindictus is awesome, and its really well done for being a free MMO. I highly recommend playing it.

Holy thread necro. Yeah I saw a few banners for Vindictus and when I saw Valve was behind it I knew it had to be pretty good. Cataclysm is bringing me back to WoW big time though.
