I'm a big fan of Touhou, and I was wondering if there were any other here. c:
I'm kind of new here, so this format is kind of confusing... D:

I'm not a huge fan of the danmakus (I get too into the games so I try to repeatedly beat higher difficulties), which causes major brain pain once you get into some of the later hard levels, lol.

I do though, love the fighting spin-offs, 12.3 in particular.

I've been into it for a little while myself :]
Its music (and the fan-remixes) are amazing.
And the games are too hard and addicting.

Huge fan of Touhou here, I'm addicted to both the games and the fan works, mainly the remixes.

I suck at the fighting games, yet I'm pretty good at danmaku :I

If anyone wants to try Touhou, you could do worse than to start with the 8th in the series.

I actually suggest Touhou 7: Perfect Cherry Blossom for a starting game. It's not as easy as Touhou 8, but it has a simpler gameplay system in comparison.

But that's my opinion, it's just the one I started with.

@18 u do know that it started at 1998 so i think u would be able to play it unless ur pc made in like 1985 or under

Not too sure about the game. When I saw the graphics for the game, I was a bit disappointed. I watched some of the gameplays too and wow.

Seems like Magical Girls on acid. I guess it's the game itself that matters. It looks addicting. And hard >_< I was hoping to try it out when I move on to college. I wonder if it'll still be available.

The good thing about the series is that you don't have to be restricted to just playing the games to enjoy every aspect of it. The music, and arranges of them, are fantastic (see this thread which needs reviving), and people make spinoff games and stories/doujin comics - the content is an endless stream of quality.

But this is to discuss the games, I guess.

I haven't actually played them in a long time - last one I played was Touhou 13, and I could only reliably make it to Seiga. Damned zombieshield.

Touhou is epic! I actually don't have pc version... but! they made one for the iphone/ipod/ipad (whatever...) for just a couple bucks. Its extremely well done, with the original epic music.

I'm not good at them, though I've cleared a few games on Normal.

I'm huge with the music and characters, though. Always fun to work around with. It just feels... So alive.

Ive been a Touhou fan for a good 10 years now. Always loved the series, legally have bought every game that can be. Excluding a few games that arent official. And alot, I mean, ALOT of figurines, at least 40. But yes, Touhou will always be in my top 3 for cultures.

Most people forgether either Unzan (Ichirin's cloud, he is indeed male) or Genji (PC-98, Reimu's flying turtle) That's just counting the ones who have shown up in games. there's also Youmu's teacher.

Simpler to just say the cast is primarily female.
