Oh yeah, while I was watching Durarara!! ep. 24 they mentioned that they're going to make a game for the psp. Anyone planning on checking it out?

What kind of game could they make Durarara into, I wonder? If we could get an english patch to it, I'd be more than interested in playing it.

I'll do some digging on it and see what I find, post later with the results for you guys.

Back faster than I anticipated.

The game looks to be a Visual Novel type affair named "Three Way Stand Off", setting you as a generic high school kid (Gender selectable?) who transferred into Mikado and company's highschool.

According to what I could find, it's going to be like playing through the anime from an outsiders point of view. You personally interact with and get to know the different characters and see the action unfold. Perhaps your choices effect how things turn out?

Also, it's being made by Brain Base (same guys who made the anime) as well as the author of the DRRR Light novels, boasting I believe a 100% return of voice actors for the voiced portions of it.

All I can comment on here is that Anri's character art sexualized her even more... And they are supposedly giving Shizuo/Izaya key straps along with special purchases.

Oh... and the guys making this are also working on a Spice and Wolf game for the DS.

Oh I see. That would be cool I guess. It sounds interesting. I wish I can understand a bit more japanese though. :(

I don't read japanese, and am not really a fan of visual novels, except for higurashi and umineko, so I guess i'll pass :3

Sounds like it'll be pretty interesting to play through the game from an outsider's PoV. Having the same voice actors and staff is a major plus.

Higurashi's VN had god awful artwork, it really turned me off of the whole thing. Though I have been considering going back to try it with the new artwork patch...

One really good VN is Tsukihime - Most fans of it insist the anime doesn't even exist, though as I've stated before, Nasuverse really appeals to me.

Some other ones are Kazoku Keikaku, which shows a very good reality drama, and Sekien no Inganock - Kind of repetitive, but over all very interesting.

sounds like a good idea. But wait! whats that itch at the back of my head? hmmm. Oh yah. More likely than not, its gonna come out it Japan for Japanese PSPs only. And as tempting as the idea is, im not getting a japanese PSP just for that. sigh, catch up america

Japanese or not, if you're interested then it shouldn't be difficult to find a rip for it on the net - Most likely an english patch for it as well.

It's just a matter of gathering the ingredients and plugging into the proper emulator.

PSPs are universal. It can play games from any countries. My english psp can play japanese games too. :/

yes! and when its in English its the only game im gonna play until i finish it 2000 times xDD Durarara is just so addicting to watch i cant imagine how addicting the game is gonna be...

I dont think this will ever be released into english since like only around 3% of VN's get translated -.- and since its on psp it makes the chances even less >.>

I think even if it did come out, it wouldn't be translated, and therefore I wouldn't be able to play it. Japanese anime/manga games never get Americanized. Even if they did, imagine what would happen to everyone's names

that's not entirely true... there are games they just usually aren't very good. One i can think of are Full Metal Alchemist Games...

Disgaea Infinite is a pretty good VN that got ported to America. And it's almost ALL voice-acted.

Also, regarding Anri's art for this game - it's fanservice. Ya can't go wrong with that. Now to go and find it for myself.
