I'm excited to see the novel heading to the big screen. I binge-read the hell out of the book when I first read it probably a couple years ago. And while I am excited, I am honestly a little skeptical...
In the trailer alone, I've noticed quite a few differences compared to the novel. Now I know what a lot of people say: "You can't REALLY expect the movie to be EXACTLY like the book, can you?" No, I suppose you can't, because there have to be a few differences here and there in order for the movie to work, because some things can't be translated from paper to screen. I believe I read somewhere that the screenplay came before the novel(?) and this movie was using the original story draft. How true this is, I don't know.
But all in all, I still want to see it, and as a fan of the book, I'm happy it's getting its moment in the theaters on the big screen.

I loved the book, but I don't have high hopes for the movie.
I'm sure it will be good, but not great.
Also, their music choice in the trailer was terrible. Really ruined the mood.

I was planning on reading the book, but I’ll just hold out until after the movie comes out, it looks good but I hope it doesn’t turn out like the emoji movie (harsh comparison) I hope the video game characters take a back seat to the story, kinda like wreck-it-ralph, overall I’m pretty hyped for the movie

I love the book. Love it. I picked it up from a friend and then bought a copy myself. If you have not read the book, read it. I would hate if the movie changed too much of the book. I'm still going to love the movie with all my heart.

The main character drives the Delorian...The bike from Akira also appears in this film...good grief they have so many references...It's like a more successful version of wreck it Ralf.(they had sonic in that movie and didn't make him a main cast member?!)
